(Magnetic) switch
The anchor windlass motor must be operated by a (magnetic)
switch with switch contacts suitable for the current from the
motor.
If it is only desired to have the motor turning in 1 direction (only
for helping to haul in the chain) then a magnetic switch with 1
make contact is sufficient.
If both motor directions are desired (using the motor to both
haul in and let out the chain) then 2 magnetic switches, each
with 1 make contact, are required.
Connect the motor and the relays according to one of the dia-
grams given on page 26.
Position the magnetic switch as close to the anchor windlass
as possible.
Never fit the magnetic switch in the chain box.
For 'Hauling in' we can supply:
- a remote control consisting of:
1 magnetic switch (relay) single pole , make contact.

For both 'Hauling in' and 'Letting out' 2 remote controls as
specified above can be ordered.
A manual operation unit with spiral wire can also be supplied for
use with the above magnetic switches.

The two motor relays must never be switched on at the same
time. There is a danger of this occurring when two separate
switches are used for hauling in and letting go. If that is the
case, 2 extra relays should be installed. See drawing.
