Rosenbauer - PROTECTIVE BOOTS
ed function of diverting electrostatic charges and giving protection during its life span,
it must be ensured that the product is in the prescribed condition. It is recommended
therefore, that regular on-the-spot checks at short intervals are made on the shoes to
test for their electrical resistance. Shoes of classification I can absorb moisture when
worn over longer period and become conductive in damp or wet conditions. If the shoe
is worn in conditions in which the material of the outsole will become contaminated,
the wearer should test the electrical properties of his shoe on each occasion before he
enters a dangerous area. In areas where anti-static shoes are worn, the floor resistance
should be such that the protective function of the shoe is not canceled out. When in
use, no insulating elements should be placed between the lining of the shoe and the
foot of the wearer. If an innersole is placed between the lining and the foot then the
shoe/lining combination should be tested for its electrical properties.

PENETRATION
The penetration resistance of this footwear has been measured in the labratory using
atruncated nail of a diameter 4,5mm and a force of 1100N. Higher forces or nails
ofsmaller diameter will increase the risk of penetration occuring. In such
circumstancesalternative preventative measures should be considered.
