EYE ADJUSTMENTS

How to Adjust Inter-Pupillary Distance
The width between the eyes, called "inter-
pupillary distance" (IPD), varies from person
to person. To set the binocular for your eye
spacing, follow these simple steps:
1. Hold your binocular normally, with the
eyepieces close to your eyes.
2. Rotate (lightly push/pull) the swiveling eyepieces inward (closer together) or
outward (further apart) (Fig. 1), until you see a single circular field when viewing
through the binocular. Always re-set your binocular to this position before using it.
How to Adjust for Individual Eye Strength
As individual eyesight varies from one person to another, your Bushnell Spectator Sport
Zoom binocular has a diopter adjustment dial, which allows you to fine-tune the binocular
to your own vision. Follow the focusing instructions below.
FOCUSING
1. Adjust the IPD as described in "How to Adjust
Inter-Pupillary Distance" (Fig. 1) until you see a single
circular image.
2. The Diopter Adjustment Ring (Parts Guide, A) is
located on the right side, directly below the eyecup.
3. Make sure the diopter adjustment is set to "zero"
to start, by rotating the ring until the index arrow
on the ring (Fig. 2, a) is pointing to the white "dot"
mark between the "
binocular.
4. Keep both eyes open at all times.
5. Using the lens cap or your hand, cover the objective (front) lens of the right side of
the binocular.
6. Using the central Focus Knob (B), focus on a distant object with fine detail (e.g.,
