5.1 Weighing

Perform a function check as described in the
section entitled "Function check" on page 75
before using the device each time.
CAUTION!
Injury from falls
People with restricted mobility may fall if they try
to step onto or off the scale.

Support people with restricted mobility as
they sit down and stand up.
►
Use a suitable means of patient transport to
get those unable to stand unaided onto the
weighing platform.
►
Ensure that the brakes of the means of trans-
port are applied during the weighing opera-
tion.
NOTICE!
Incorrect measurement as a result of incorrect
loading
If the scales are loaded on only one side or in
only one corner, weight will not be measured
correctly.
►
Ask the patient to place himself or herself in
the centre of the scale.
►
Position the means of patient transport cen-
trally on the scales.
►
Press the Start key.
All the elements of the display are shown briefly,
then SECA appears in the display.
The scale is operational when 0.0 appears in the
display.
