2 Safety Instructions

Before starting up always observe the following points:
Autogenous appliances should be used by trained staff only
•
Observe the accident prevention regulations and valid regulations for
•
working with gases
Before working with the torch, observe the operating instructions and
•
wear personal protective equipment like ear and face protection and
flame-resistant clothes
Work in a well ventilated environment
•
Do not use oil or grease for lubrication when working with autogenous
•
appliances. Risk of explosion!
The equipment must be in a condition which is in conformity with the
•
applicable regulations, i.e. functioning pressure regulators and hoses
must be used
Using appropriate instruments, check the hose connections and valves
•
for any leaks
Before starting to work, check the nozzles and the suction effect
•
of the injector
To check the suction effect, connect the heating oxygen hose, then open
•
the heating oxygen valve and adjust the heating oxygen pressure as
required. After that, open the fuel gas valve and make sure if you can
feel the suction effect at the fuel gas inlet with your finger
If there is no suction effect or in case of any defects, you have to make
•
sure that the torch will be repaired by trained staff immediately
In case of flashback shut down the cutting torch immediately as
•
described on pages 24 and 26
