6.2 Compressed air connections

Connect the inputs of the Commander with the elements of your controller
according to the circuit diagram.

External signal input
Operating pressure
Direct group base position, usually from external transducers.

Multiple Quicksteppers can be supplied from the (last) output X
via an and−circuit to the input 0−POSITION
If no signal is applied, or if operating pressure fails, the outputs
A1 ... A of the Festo FSS−12−C Quickstepper step switch are

blocked. This also applies if an external EMERGENCY−STOP impact
switch is unlocked. Activation of an EMERGENCY−STOP switch
blocks all Quickstepper outlets by breaking off the connection
from the connection P of the Quickstepper to connection A
Commander.
External signal input
External start signal. The Start button on the Commander must be
blocked if start is to be executed with an external transducer
(chapter 8).
External stop signal for stop in the cycle. The Stop button on the
Commander can be blocked to limit the tripping location of the
signal to the external transducer (chapter 8). Activating the Stop
button blocks the next step, the output however remains charged
with compressed air.
