Check that the pH, the total alkalinity TA and the water
hardness are correct; if not, act according to the recommen-
dations in the related paragraphs.
Add 5÷10 mg/l of chlorine in quick dissolving granules to the
water in the spa.
ATTENTION
It is advisable to dissolve the grains beforehand in
a bucket, or to use a special basket available from
specialized distributors. The Manufacturers specif-
ic instructions and recommendations must be care-
fully followed for use of the above substances.
Set the filtering cycle (see corresponding paragraph) ) and let
it operate until the level of chlorine residue in the water drops
to normal levels (2÷3 mg/l); this normally occurs after a few
hours (it is advisable, however, to leave the filtering system in
operation for at least half a day).
As an alternative, you can also activate rapid filtering ("Instant
Clear", see the correpsonding chapter; this function lasts about 45
minutes). When the time is up, it is advisable to check the remain-
ing level of free chlorine (see above) and to run the function again
in order to achieve the recommended values (2÷3 mg/l).
ATTENTION
Do
NOT use the spa until the level of free chlorine
has dropped to normal levels (2÷3 mg/l). Do not
use the thermal cover during super-chlorination
as the chlorine can attack the metal parts
(chrome-plated accessories etc.). Other values of
chlorine or bromine (> 10 mg/l) may not be de-
tected by the test kit reactants, while there is ac-
tually an excessive amount present.
If disinfectants have been added in amounts over
10 mg/l, the operator must forbid, as his respon-
sibility, the use of the spa. The amounts and meth-
ods of use must be handled by specialized per-
sonnel.

Normal chlorination (or regular maintenance)

To ensure quality, the water must be treated, i.e. chemically
conditioned. The water level must be kept constant to guar-
antee correct system operation.
Check that the pH, the total alkalinity TA and the water
hardness are correct; if not, act according to the recommen-
dations in the related paragraphs.
Add the slow dissolving stabilised chlorine to the water
of the spa.
ATTENTION
It is advisable to dissolve the grains beforehand in
a bucket, or to use a special basket available from
specialized distributors. The Manufacturers specif-
ic instructions and recommendations must be care-
fully followed for use of the above substances.
When chlorine is added to the water, part of it is wasted on con-
tact with impurities, a part (combined chlorine) blends with ni-
trogenated substances forming chloroamines and another part
remains available for disinfection: this is the so-called free chlo-
rine, which should be present in the amount of 2÷3 mg/l.
Set the water filtering (or rapid filtering) cycles according to
the intended use of the spa.
Do not let the free chlorine level drop to below the recom-
mended value (2÷3 mg/l).
After each hydromassage, or at least daily, it is a good idea
to carry out a chemical control of the pH and the amount of
chlorine in the water, as is done with swimming pools.
NOT ES
- if the chloroamine level (combined chlorine with nitrogenat-
ed organic substances) becomes high, it can cause the so-
called "chlorine smell", and also irritating effects for the eyes
and skin. In this case, it is advisable to carry out super-chlo-
rination (shock treatment).
- keep in mind that the ozone, which is added from the bot-
tom and mixed with the water, helps to disinfect and purify the
water. Use of the ozone generator normally reduces the need
for chemical water treatment additives and therefore also re-
duces costs.
I
DRAINING THE TUB
Periodically, the spa must be drained in order to ensure that
water is changed and to clean the tub. This operation depends
on frequency of use of the spa, number of users, water qual-
ity, type of contaminants in the water, etc. If the spa is used
only by the family, good water quality may be maintained for
several weeks, whereas more intensive use may make it nec-
essary to change the water several times a week.
ATTENTION
Before emptying, make sure that the chemical addi-
tive values in the water are within the permitted limits.
If in doubt, contact the local authorities.
DO NOT EMPTY THE WATER INTO A SEPTIC TANK.
