Deposit cup
• The carburettor is fitted with a fuel filter and deposit cup. This needs to
be periodically cleaned to clear collected dirt.
• Check that the Fuel Tap (3) is in the closed position, left.
• Ensure that the engine is fully cooled.
• Unscrew the deposit cup from the carburettor. Be aware that there may
be some fuel spillage, as the cup will be full of fuel.
• Empty and clean the deposit cup, clean the O ring seal and reassemble.
Spark plug
• The spark plug should be regularly inspected to ensure good engine
performance.
• Ensure that engine is stopped and fully cooled.
• Remove the spark plug lead, and remove spark plug using the Spark Plug
Wrench (13).
• The spark plug tip should be a light brown colour. Other colours indicate
poor tuning or poor fuel.
• Clean the spark plug electrodes using a wire brush.
• If the spark plug is damaged in any way, replace it before use.
• The spark plug gap should be 0.7-0.8mm. Adjust as necessary.
• Replace the spark plug, do not cross thread the fitting. Tighten using a
spark plug wrench. For a new plug, tighten by ½ turn after screwing in
finger tight. For a used plug tighten ¼ turn after finger tight.
• Incorrect spark plug fitment may cause permanent damage to the
engine.
Fuelling
• Do not smoke when handling fuel.
• This engine should always be run on unleaded fuel, with an octane
rating of at least 86RON. Do not store fuel for extended periods of time
"old" fuel may cause poor running or other problems.
• Do not use fuels containing ethanol or methanol. These fuels may
cause damage to fuel lines, or other components.
• When the engine is running under heavy load, it is common to hear
occasional "spark knock" or "pinking". If "spark knock" can be heard
regularly, or under moderate load, replace the fuel in the engine
with fresh fuel. If the engine continues to "spark knock" consult an
authorised service centre.
• Always allow the engine to cool fully before fuelling.
• To fuel the engine, remove the fuel filler cap. The fuel level should
reach the shoulder of the fuel filter. Do not fill the tank to the very top.
• Be careful not to spill any fuel. If any fuel is spilt, ensure it is cleaned
up thoroughly before starting the engine.
• Replace fuel filler cap, and ensure it is securely tightened.
Starting
• Move the Fuel Tap (3) to the ON position, to the right.
• Move the Choke Lever (4) to the CHOKE position, to the left (only
necessary if the engine is cold).
• Position the Throttle Lever (2) close to its LOW position, to the right.
• Rotate the Ignition Switch (6) to its ON position, clockwise.
• Pull gently on the Starting Handle (1) to take up any slack then pull
firmly and swiftly. Do not wrap the starting rope around your hand,
always guide the rope back into the recoil mechanism.
• Repeat until the engine starts.
• When the engine has warmed up, move the Choke Lever (4) to the RUN
position, to the right.
• Set the Throttle Lever (2) to the required speed, to the left.
NOTE – the engine settings are optimised for use at sea level. Using
this engine at high altitudes may affect performance, and could
cause damage. Consult an authorised service centre if you encounter
problems.
Stopping
• To stop the engine in an emergency, rotate the Ignition Switch (6) to the
OFF position, anti-clockwise.
• The proper engine stop procedure is: Move the Throttle Lever (2) to the
LOW position (right), Rotate the Ignition Switch (6) to the OFF position
(anti-clockwise), Move the Fuel Tap (3) to the CLOSED position (left).

Using the pressure washer

• Always open water supply tap before starting engine.
• Do not run the engine for more than 1-2 minutes without operating
the spray lance. Water circulating within the pump will rapidly become
overheated and cause damage.
6
• To spray water, squeeze the trigger control on the Trigger Handle (11).
• The lance nozzle can be adjusted between a wide fan pattern, and a
strong narrow jet. It is advisable to start with the nozzle turned clockwise
(fan pattern), and experiment with narrower patterns, and different spray
distances, until the correct strength is achieved.
• If you are unsure of the durability of the surface that is being cleaned,
avoid using the narrow jet setting
• It is recommended to hold the lance at an angle of 45˚ to the surface
being cleaned. This will give maximum control, and most effective
cleaning.
• Always test clean an inconspicuous area first to check that the cleaning
process or detergent will not damage the item being cleaned.
• When you have finished using the machine, always stop the engine, then
hold trigger in the open position to release any residual pressure.
Detergent
• With the engine stopped, fill the Detergent Bottle (8) with a suitable
cleaning detergent.
• To engage detergent dispenser, push the nozzle away from the lance
head. the detergent will flow a few moments later.
• To stop the flow of detergent, retract the nozzle.
Maintenance
Engine maintenance
• Check oil level regularly.
• Change oil regularly.
• Check condition of spark plug and spark plug gap regularly.
Cleaning
• Keep your machine clean at all times
• Follow air filter cleaning instructions above.
• Always allow water to drain from the pump before storing.
• Clean nozzle using the Cleaning Pin (14) supplied.
