FILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT

NOTES:
The life of the filter cartridge depends on water volume used and the
quality of the feed water. It is recommended that the filter cartridges be
replaced every 6-12 months, or when there is a noticeable change in
taste, odor, or flow of filtered water.
Ensure the correct cartridge is purchased for the system.
Model LR-1500 uses the LR-FB10 Replacement Cartridge.
WARNING
Use safety glasses when handling household bleach to
prevent bodily injury. Follow bleach manufacturer's instructions when
handling bleach.
A) Turn off water supply to filter. (1) Depress red pressure-relief button or
open cold water faucet to release pressure. (2) Use a housing wrench
to unscrew and remove housing.
B) Locate and remove large O-ring (3), wipe clean of lubricant and set
aside. Discard used cartridge. Rinse out bottom of housing and fill
about 1/3 full with water. Add about 2 tablespoons of bleach and
scrub cap and bottom of housing with non-abrasive sponge or cloth.
Rinse thoroughly. Lubricate O-ring with clean silicone grease. Insert
O-ring into groove and smooth into place with finger.
NOTE: This step is important to ensure proper housing seal. Make
sure O-ring is seated level in the groove. Insert new cartridge over
standpipe in bottom of housing (4).
C) (5) Screw bottom of housing onto the cap and hand-tighten.
DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. Make certain cap standpipe slips into
cartridge. Turn on water supply slowly to allow filter to fill with water.
(6) Depress red pressure-relief button to release trapped air. Flush
cartridge for 3 minutes before use.
CHECK FOR LEAKS BEFORE LEAVING INSTALLATION.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Leaks between cap and bottom of filter housing:
1. Turn off water supply and press the red pressure-relief button.
Remove bottom of housing.
2. Clean O-ring and O-ring groove (located directly beneath threads of
housing). Lubricate O-ring with silicone grease and replace securely
into groove. Screw bottom of housing onto cap and hand-tighten.
DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
NOTE: Replace O-ring if leak persists or if O-ring appears worn or
damaged. Replace O-ring every two years.
Leaks from tube fittings:
1. Relieve pressure by turning off the water supply to the system and
opening faucet until water flow stops. Place a bucket or towel under
the system to catch any water drips.
2. Depress collet on system or inlet supply adapter tubing fittings and
pull tubing from fitting. Inspect surface of tubing for scratches or
debris. Clean or cut back the tubing to access clean surface.
3. Wet the end of the inlet tubing and press into the inlet fitting of the
system. Ensure the tubing is fully pushed past the fitting O-rings. Place
system into operation and check for leaks. If leaks persist, turn off the
water supply and contact Technical Support at 1-800-279-9404.
