1. APLICATIONS OF THE INSTRUMENT
The refractometer is used to measure the refractive index nD and mean dispersions nF-
nc of transparent and translucent liquid or solid, mainly the transparent liquid. Zuzi 325
Refractometer includes a thermostat to measure refractive indexes nD within the range of
0ºC and 70ºC. See joint chart. Refractive indexes are important optical constants in subs-
tance and can be used to determine optical performance, purity and concentration, etc.
It is possible to get sugar percentage in saccharose solutions within a range of 0 - 95%
Brix, equal to refractive indice 1.333 - 1.531.
This instrument can be widely used as indispensable tool in petrological, oil and fat,
pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic or chemical industry, as well as universities and research
institutions.
