Possible causes
Deformation of wire rope inside
or on contact with winch
subsequent to a winding
problem
• Load snag during lifting
• Electrical power supply failure • Have the electrical installation
• Emergency stop locked
• Winch limit stop lever
actuated
• Limit stop lever blocked or
broken
• Power supply cut off,
connector or socket faulty
• After intensive use, motor is
too hot and temperature
sensor has triggered
• Limit switch damaged
• Button unit damaged

Corrective actions
• Immediately stop the
maneuver, with no further
action on control unit
• Secure the load by another
means satisfying the
necessary safety regulations
and clear the winch once the
load has been removed. Try
to bring the wire rope out of
the winch. If this is not
possible, send the winch and
its wire rope to a Tractel ® -
approved repair agent.
• If an anomaly appears on the
wire rope, eliminate the wire
rope and replace it with a new
wire rope
• Clear the load and check
the cable before resuming
the movement
checked by a technician
• Release the emergency stop
button
• If the stop is caused by action
of the limit stop on the lever,
operate the winch in the
opposite direction
• Replace the limit stop lever
in accordance with the
procedure detailed in this
manual ; check that the limit
stops operate correctly before
re-using the winch again
• Return the winch to
a Tractel ® -approved repair
agent
• Wait for the winch to cool
down
• Return the winch to
a Tractel ® -approved repair
agent
