General Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the
appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the
warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal
packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass
on the operating instructions.
•
The appliance is designed exclusively for private use
and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t
for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away
from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it
into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance
with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it
immediately.
•
When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance
and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the
plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and
remove the attached accessories.
•
Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you
should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off
or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not
the lead).
•
Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular
basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
•
Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always
contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure
to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by
the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed
person and with a cable of the same type.
•
Use only original spare parts.
•
Pay careful attention to the following "Special Safety Instruc-
tions".
Children and Frail Individuals
•
In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all
packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their
reach.
Caution! Do not allow small children to play with the foil as
there is a danger of suffocation!
•
In order to protect children or frail individuals from the ha-
zards of electrical equipment, please ensure that this device
is only used under supervision. This device is not a toy. Do
not allow small children to play with it.
Special Safety Instructions for this Machine
•
Place the coffee machine on a fi rm and fl at surface. Position
the device such that it cannot tip over.
•
Fill the water tank only with cold water!
•
Never open the fi lter cover while the coffee is percolating as
otherwise this may cause burns.
•
Steam is emitted from above the fi lter holder during opera-
tion! This may lead to the formation of condensation on the
upper cover of the device. This is normal and does not affect
the correct functioning of the device!
•
Do not place the machine directly next to a gas or electric
cooker or any other source of heat.

•
Do not move the machine when it is in operation.
•
Before you open the fi lter cover you should switch the device
off and allow it to cool down for at least 30 seconds!
•
The hot plate and the coffee pot become very hot. Danger of
scalding!
Putting the device into operation
•
Remove all the packaging and transport protections from the
device. Wipe all the parts with a moist cloth. Then mount the
device again by proceeding in the opposite order.
•
Carry out 2 or 3 cycles with cold water only to clean the
device before brewing the fi rst cup of coffee.
Electrical connection
•
Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protective
contact socket. The details can be found on the appliance's
nameplate.
•
Make sure that the appliance is switched off. (The light in
the I/O switch is off).
Operating
1. Open the water tank lid.
2. Now fi ll with enough fresh cold water for the desired number
of cups. You can read the level on the water level display.
Do not overfi ll the appliance (max. 10 cups).
3. Close the water tank lid.
4. Swing the fi lter out to the left.
If necessary
fold the paper fi lter (size 1x4) along the lower
folding line and then place it in the fi lter funnel. Please
ensure that the fi lter bag is longer than the fi lter funnel. Then
fi ll it with coffee powder
(approx. 1 teaspoon for 2 cups).
5. Lock in the fi lter until it snaps into place.
6. Turn the device on by the I/O on/off switch. The control lamp
in the switch lights up.
7. Your appliance is provided with a drip stop. By removing the
pot, before the water runs through the fi lter completely, it
avoids that the coffee drips on the base. If there is still water
in the tank or fi lter, make sure that the pot is placed back
under the fi lter to avoid overfl owing.
8. When the coffee stops fl owing into the fi lter, you can remove
the pot.
9. Switch off the appliance. The control lamp goes out.
NOTE:
The fi lter holder can be removed from the machine.
This makes it easier to dispose of the old coffee fi lter,
for example.
De-scaling
•
De-scaling is necessary when the brewing time increases
substantially.
•
Use only commercially available citrus acid-based de-scaler.
