Below is a reference chart of all available modes for the Start/Stop button, as well as the available parameters that
can be edited for this control.

Editing the Keyboard Zones
The keys on Vortex Wireless can be placed in any one of three modes: Upper, Lower and Split. The upper and lower
modes have a MIDI channel and transposition value assigned to them. The split mode places the lower mode in one
keyboard range and the upper mode in another range. A default volume message will be sent when you press the
lower or upper button. You can also adjust the split point.
To set the split point:
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Press the Split button. The current split point will be displayed on the LED display screen.
3.
Press the key on the keyboard that you want to use as the split point to divide the keyboard.
4.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to original settings.
To set the transposition of the upper or lower zone:
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Press the Upper or Lower button to select the zone you would like to edit.
3.
Turn Knob #1 to set the amount of semitones (-12 to +12) to transpose the Vortex keybed
4.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to original settings.
To set the MIDI channel of the upper or lower keyboard zone:
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Press the Upper or Lower button to select the zone you would like to edit.
3.
Turn Knob #2 to set the MIDI Channel of the zone. (1-16)
4.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to original settings.
To set the velocity curve of the upper or lower keyboard zone:
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Press the Upper or Lower button to select the zone you would like to edit.
3.
Turn Knob #3 to set the Velocity curve of the zone. (0-8)
Note: See the Appendix of this manual for a reference chart of these Velocity curves
4.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to original settings.
To change the default volume message sent when a zone is selected:
1.
Press Patch Edit.
2.
Press the Upper or Lower button to select the zone that you would like to edit.
3.
Enter the volume amount using the keyboard's numeric keys.
4.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to original settings.
