To edit the specific parameters of a control:
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Move the control you want to edit. The LED screen will display the name of the currently edited control.
a.
For the accelerometer, press the Edit Accel key on the keyboard.
b.
For the ribbon controllers, press one of the three buttons that you want to edit.
3.
Use the 3 knobs to change parameter values.
Note: After moving the corresponding knob, you can also use the numeric keys to enter a value.
4.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to original settings.
To change the MIDI channel of a control:
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Move the control you want to edit. The LED screen will display the name of the currently edited control.
a.
For the accelerometer, press the Edit Accel key on the keyboard.
b.
For the ribbon controllers, press one of the three buttons that you want to edit.
3.
Press the key labeled MIDI Channel. The current MIDI channel of the pad you are editing will display on the
LED Screen.
4.
Use the numeric keys to enter a MIDI channel (1 – 16).
5.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to the original setting.
To reverse the direction of a control:
You can reverse the direction of a control by setting the minimum range value of a control to be higher than the
maximum range of a control.
For example, if you would like to reverse the direction of the ribbon controller in ribbon mode one, follow the steps
below:
1.
Press Patch Edit. PE will display on the LED display screen.
2.
Press the Ribbon Mode 1 button. rb1 will display on the LED display screen.
3.
Turn the Knob #2 to 127 and turn the Knob #3 to 0.
4.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to the original setting.
5.
Press Patch Edit to return to Performance Mode. PF will display on the LED display screen. The ribbon
controller will now be reversed in Ribbon Mode 1.
To set the Ribbon Controller Response Mode:
The touch-sensitive ribbon control can respond to its release in two different ways. In the Latch Mode, the setting will
be retained after releasing the ribbon controller. In the Return Mode, the setting will return to its default value after
releasing the ribbon controller.
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Touch the Ribbon. rib will display on the LED.
3.
Press Mode Assign.
4.
Set the mode (1 – 2) using the numeric keys. Alternatively, press Mode Assign to cycle between modes.
Note: The LED display screen will display Lch (for "Latch Mode"), or rn (for "Return Mode").
5.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to the original setting.
To calibrate the accelerometer:
The accelerometer sends MIDI data when the Vortex Wireless is tilted within the calibrated threshold for the
accelerometer (45 degrees by default). The Tilt LED will light and the LED display screen will indicate the value of the
MIDI message being sent when the accelerometer is sending MIDI messages.
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Press the Cal Accel key. XY1 will be displayed on the LED display screen.
3.
Move Vortex Wireless in the minimum up-down position.
4.
Press the Enter key to set the X1-Y1 position. XY2 will be displayed on the LED display screen.
5.
Move Vortex Wireless in the maximum up-down position.
6.
Press the Enter key to set the X2-Y2 position.
To disable the accelerometer:
1.
Press the Patch Edit button.
2.
Press the Edit Accelerometer key. Acc will display on the LED display screen.
3.
Press Mode Assign.
4.
Press Mode Assign until the LED display screen shows oFF.
5.
Press the Enter key to save the changes or the Cancel key to revert to the original setting.
