SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION, INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
In principle operations must only be performed with the machine switched off. Immediately after the completion of operations, all
the safety and protection devices must be refitted and reactivated. Their efficiency must be checked before commencing operations
again in compliance with the current and relevant rules and provisions.
AUTONOMOUS CHANGES AND PRODUCTION OF SPARE PARTS
Changes to the machine are only permitted in agreement with the manufacturer. Original spare parts and accessories authorised by
the manufacturer ensure safety. The use of other parts may invalidate liability for any possible consequences.
UNAUTHORISED MODES OF OPERATION
Safety of operation of the machine is only guaranteed by correct usage that complies with the provisions. The limit values given in
the "Technical specifications" chapter must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
GUIDELINES FOR THE PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS
Never perform work alone; always use a helmet, safety goggles, protective shoes, and, if necessary, a suitable safety harness.
Before welding or using electrical devices, check that there is no danger of explosion.
Pay attention to cleanliness and health.
Observe the work place safety regulations and ensure a first aid kit is readily available.
In some cases the device and the fluid may be hot with consequent risk of burns.
Specific regulations are applicable for installation in explosion hazard areas !
This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old, persons with a physical, sensory or mental disability, persons with
insufficient experience and knowledge if they are being supervised or have been instructed on the use of the appliance and
where they have understood the resulting dangers involved. Children are not permitted to play with the appliance. Cleaning and
maintenance of the unit cannot be performed by children without supervision.
Tasks relating to the electrical installations on the pump or on the control panel must only be performed by a
qualified electrician.
Ensure the device is only connected to electrical outlets installed according to the regulations, made safe with a fuse
and high-sensitivity differential circuit breaker (30mA).
Before any work on the device, disconnect the power supply. Intervene after the elapse of 2 minutes from
disconnection to prevent possible electric shock.
Check that the power cable has no signs of mechanical or chemical damage. Replace any damaged or twisted cables
CHAPTER 2
USE
GENERAL INFORMATION
VSD (Variable Speed Drive) is a frequency converter that is able to change the speed of an electric pump thereby keeping pressure
constant with variation of demand.
The control is possible via a pressure and a flow sensor both of which are connected to the inverter.
MASTER-SLAVE OPERATION
The MASTER-SLAVE system iconsists of two VSD devices, a device configured as MASTER which is responsible for controlling the
group and a device configured as SLAVE controlled by the MASTER. With alternation of the MASTER system, the first cycle begins as
principal; with increase of demand the SLAVE device starts the secondary pump. With the next cycle the pump starting sequence is
alternated.
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
Upon delivery check that the device has not been damaged during transportation; where this is found to be the case, notify the
dealer immediately.
Control stages:
•
check the outside of the packaging;
•
