Forward/Reverse slider (fig. B)
• To select forward or reverse rotation, use the
forward/reverse slider (2) as shown (see arrows
on tool).
• Always release the variable speed switch and wait
until the motor has come to a complete standstill
before changing the direction of rotation.
Torque adjustment (fig. B, C & D)
Your D
WALT precision torque screwdriver can be
E
used for screwdriving operations requiring a precise
torque. The torque adjustment allows settings
between 1.5 and 4.5 Nm, in increments of 0.08 Nm.
• Check the screw manufacturer's specifications
for the proper torque for the screw being used.
• Insert the 1/4" Allen key (10) supplied with the
tool in the bit holder (5) and turn it until a click is
heard (fig. B).
• Insert the wire frame (7) into the two holes (3) as
shown in fig. C.
• Adjust until the symbol ↔ appears in the window (6).
• Remove the wire frame.
• Reinsert the wire frame as shown in fig.D.
• Insert the 1/4" Allen key into the bit holder.
The exact torque depends of the size and type of
screw and the material being used.
• Turn the 1/4" Allen key to the desired level:
to increase the torque, turn counterclockwise (+);
to decrease the torque, turn clockwise (-); each
click corresponds to 0.08 Nm.
• Drive a screw into a piece of waste material.
• Measure the torque using a torque meter. If
necessary, adjust the torque as described above.

Tightening time
Your D
WALT precision torque screwdriver needs
E
only a few seconds to tighten most the screws.
The exact tightening time and torque ratio will be
determined by experience.
Tightening screws too firmly can lead to
damages to both the screwdriver bit and
the screw head.
Various types of 1/4" hex. bits, holders and adaptors
are available as an option. Always use accessories
