TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Lack of electric power
THE MOTOR IS NOT
Rotor jammed
TURNING
Motor problems
Low voltage in the electric pow-
THE MOTOR TURNS
SLOWLY WHEN START-
er line
ING
Low level in the suction tank
Foot valve blocked
Filter clogged
Excessive suction pressure
High loss of head in the delivery
circuit (working with the by-pass
open)
By-pass valve blocked
Air entering the pump or the
suction tubing
A narrowing in the suction tub-
LOW OR NO FLOW RATE
ing
Low rotation speed
The suction tubing is resting on
the bottom of the tank
Freezing of the pump or motor. Thaw the pump and check for
Leaks in the pump outlet pipe.
Cavitation occurring
Irregular functioning of the by-
pass
INCREASED PUMP NOISE
Presence of air in the liquid to be
pumped.
Pump damage
LEAKAGE FROM THE
PUMP BODY
AUTO SHUT-OFF FAIL-
Low fl w rate of pump

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Check the electrical connections
and the safety systems.
Check for possible damage or
obstruction of the rotating com-
ponents.
Replace pump
Bring the voltage back within
the anticipated limits
Refill the tan
Clean and/or replace the valve
Clean the fil er
Lower the pump with respect to
the level of the tank or increase
the cross-section of the tubing
Use shorter tubing or of greater
diameter
Flush the system
Check the seals of the connec-
tions
Use tubing suitable for working
under suction pressure
Check the voltage at the pump.
Adjust the voltage and/or use
cables of greater cross-section
Modify tubing properly.
damage. Starting a frozen pump
can cause damage to the motor
and to the pump itself
Check the seal at the pipe's con-
nections and inspect the pipe
for possible damage.
Reduce suction pressure
Dispense until the air is purged
from the by-pass system.
Verify the suction connections
Replace pump
Replace pump.
Remove fl w rate restrictions.
