Cover and Seat Troubleshooting
Symptoms
1. Cover strikes back wall
when opening.
2. Cover and/or seat does
not open automatically.

Probable Causes
A. The toilet has a blockage.
A. The water has evaporated when
there is extended period of time
between uses.
B. There is a blockage that does
not allow the trapway valve to
close all the way.
Probable Causes
A. Flange rough-in is too close to
the wall. Rough-in should be
minimum of 11-3/4" (298 mm).
A. Sensors are not enabled.
B. Automatic open and close is set
to [side sensor - lid only].
C. Sensor lenses are blocked.
D. Motion sensor is not set with
the correct sensitivity level.
Recommended Action
A. Open the trapway valve using the
remote control; select [settings] >
[cleaning] > [manual clean] >
[open bowl valve]. Use a plunger
to remove the blockage. For
extreme blockage a snake may be
used.
A. Flush the toilet to refill the bowl.
B1. Use the remote control to open and
close the trapway valve several
times by selecting; [settings] >
[cleaning] > [manual clean] >
[open bowl valve] > [close]
repeatedly.
B2. Open the trapway valve using the
remote control; select [settings] >
[cleaning] > [manual clean] >
[open bowl valve]. Use a plunger
to remove the blockage. For
extreme blockage a snake may be
used.
Recommended Action
A1. Adjust the finished wall or flange to
an 11-3/4" (298 mm) or greater
rough-in.
A2. Call the Customer Care Center
using the information provided on
the back page of this manual.
A. Use the remote control to enable
the sensors by selecting; [settings] >
[feature settings] > [auto open and
close] and select your desired
setting of [near], [medium], [far],
[side sensor - lid and ring] or [side
sensor - lid only].
B. Use the remote control to enable
the sensors by selecting; [settings] >
[feature settings] > [auto open and
close], and select [side sensor - lid
and ring] or [near], [medium] or
[far].
C. Clean all dirt or debris away from
the sensor lens. The lens is located
on the right side of the toilet next
to the heated feet air outlet.
D1. Use the remote control to enable
the sensor by selecting; [settings] >
[feature settings] > [auto open and
close] and [near], [medium] or
[far].
D2. Call the Customer Care Center
using the information provided on
the back page of this manual.
