ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION:
ADULT ASSEMBLY REQUIRED.
USE CARE WHEN UNPACKING AS
COMPONENTS TO BE ASSEMBLED
MAY POSE A SMALL PARTS/SHARP
EDGE HAZARD.
BATTERY ALREADY INSTALLED IN
VEHICLE.
ASSEMBLY
1 • Attach front grill by first hooking eyelets on
screw columns and then rotating down into
place.
2 • Attach front brushguard similar to and over
front grill by first hooking eyelets on screw
columns and then rotating down into position.
3 • Secure front grill with 2 pins provided. Insert
one into the hole on each side.
4 • Align front rack with screw holes and fasten
with the 4 screws provided.
5 • To attach tailgate to rear of cargo bed, first
insert pivot rod into hole on one side (a), and
then push other side down into position (b).
6 • Attach black rear fender piece on each side by
first engaging hook on back (a) then the hooks
on the bottom edge (b) before inserting tabs
along top edge (c).
7 • Insert spring into lift latch as shown in figure
(a). Then raise cargo bed and lift piston (b).
8 • Press lift latch down into position (a). Then align
holes on piston, latch and underside of cargo
bed and insert pin (b).
9 • Attach black trim piece on each side by
pressing tabs completely down into slots.
10 • Snap the nut cap into place and repeat the
operation on the other 3 wheels.
11 • Snap gas tank cap into place.
12 • Slip the handgrips onto the handlebars as
shown.
13 • Apply "speedometer" decal (#4) to handlebar.
14 • Place clear lens in bezel piece (a) and snap into
place over "speedometer" label (b).
15 • Loosen screw and remove battery door on
lower-left backside of handlebars (a).
Carefully pullout the battery tray and insert 2
AA batteries (b). (AA batteries not included
with the vehicle.) Replace tray and battery
door and tighten screw down.
16 • Apply chrome decal to headlight position on
front of handlebar unit (a) and snap lens into
place over chrome decal (b).
17 • Snap the handlebar down into place on the
vehicle.
18 • Apply 2 chrome decals to the headlight
positions on the front grill.
19 • Snap the 2 clear headlights onto the front
grill over the chrome decals.
20 • Apply 2 chrome decals in the taillight positions
on the rear bumper.
21 • Snap the 2 red taillights into place on the rear
bumper over the chrome decals.
VEHICLE FEATURES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
22 • ACCELERATOR/BRAKE PEDAL: The vehicle will
automatically brake when the child takes
his/her foot off the accelerator.
23 • GEAR SHIFT LEVER: The vehicle has three
speeds. ATTENTION: When the vehicle is first
removed from the package, it only runs in first
gear (1) and reverse (R). (Note that reverse
mode is spring-loaded for safety.) To use the
second gear (2), proceed as follows:
24 • Loosen the screw and remove the tab as shown
in the figure.
25 • 1-R: The high speed lockout tab protrudes
from the column preventing the gearshift lever
from moving down into the second gear (a). 1-
2-R: The high speed lockout is removed and
the gearshift lever can be lowered into the
second gear (b).
26 • HORN: Press the right button on the handlebar
to sound the horn.
27 • LIGHT: Press the left button on the handlebar to
turn on the light on the front of the handlebar
unit.
28 • SEAT LOCK: To access storage area under seat
turn the seat lock to the "unlock" position
shown in the diagram and lift the seat. NOTE:
Seat has both lock and unlock positions.
BATTERY RECHARGE
CHARGE BATTERY BEFORE USING
WARNING:
WARNING: BATTERY CHARGING
AND ANY OTHER OPERATION ON
THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MUST BE
CARRIED OUT BY ADULTS ONLY.
THE BATTERY CAN ALSO BE CHARGED
WITHOUT REMOVING IT FROM THE
VEHICLE.
29 • On the front of the vehicle, loosen screw on
front of battery compartment cover (a) and
detach rubber latches (b).
30 • Lift cover up and pull up and out.
31 • Disconnect the electrical system plug (A)
from the battery wire plug (B) by pressing in
on the sides of the plugs.
32 • Plug the battery charger into a household
electrical outlet, following the instructions that
come with the battery charger. Connect plug B
to battery charger plug (C).
33 • After the battery has finished charging,
disconnect the battery charger from the
electrical outlet. Then disconnect plug C from
plug B.
34 • Press plug B all the way into plug A until it
snaps into place. After finishing this operation,
always remember to close and fasten the
battery compartment cover.
35 • Replace battery compartment cover reattach
rubber latches and tighten screw back down.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
36 • On the front of the vehicle, loosen screw on
front of battery compartment cover (a) and
detach rubber latches (b).
37 • Lift cover up and pull up and out.
38 • To remove metal retaining bar, first press back
on the right side (as seen in figure) until it
snaps free (a). Then slide bar right (b) until bar
clears left side and finally slide bar left and out
(c).
39 • Disconnect plug by pressing in on the sides of
the plugs and pulling apart.
40 • Lift battery out of compartment by the
handle.
41 • Set new battery down into compartment and
fit securely into tray.
42 • Connect the battery wire plug to the
electrical system plug.
43 • To replace retaining bar, first insert bar into
right side and slide bar right (a) far
enough to allow left side to be inserted into
hole until it stops (b). Then pull back (toward
you) on right side until bar snaps into place (c).
44 • Replace battery compartment cover reattach
rubber latches and tighten screw back down.
BATTERY MAINTENANCE
AND SAFETY
Before riding, charge your battery for
18 hours to initiate them. Failure to
do this will result in permanent
battery damage.
CAUTION:
Only adults should recharge batteries,
never children.
Never allow children to handle
batteries.
Only use the batteries specified by
the manufacturer.
Only use the charger specified by
the manufacturer.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc), or rechargeable
(nickel-cadmium) batteries.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
• Charge the batteries no longer
than 24 hours, following the
instructions enclosed with the
battery charger.
• Charge the battery, as the vehicle
shows low power, in this way you
will avoid damage to the battery.
• If you don't use your vehicle for a
long period of time unplug the
battery from the main wire
harness of the vehicle. Remember
to charge the battery at least every
three months.
• Never charge the battery upside
down.
• Do not forget batteries during
charging! Check them periodically.
• Never use a replacement recharger
or batteries unless they are approved
by PEG-PÉREGO.
• Batteries are sealed and maintenance
free.
• Battery polarity must be observed
when connecting battery to
wiring.
