ADJUSTMENT OF LEVELS

9.1
Verifying the UC modules
Verify the automatic frequency control modules (15) or (16) in each
processor. The indicator must be on if the AFC On was programmed.
Verify that the PLL plugging indicator (20) of the output frequencies of the
two processors is activated.
9.2
Levels of the UC modules
Connect a signal level meter that covers the band from 950 to 2150 MHz
in the TEST connector (33) of the PA amplifier. Make sure that the output
(38) of the amplifier is charged with the distribution cable or an RS-275
(code 9120011) charge of 75 Ω, and that the signal inlet (24 of the first
module is charged with an RS-275 (code 9120011) charge of 75 Ω.
Verify that the output level regulators (18/19) of each UC module are at
-0 dB. Then, if necessary, adjust the output levels of each UC module
using the output level regulator (18/19) so that the transponder levels are
within approximately a margin of 5 dB.
We recommend programming the lowest output frequencies in the
modules furthest from the amplifier, and successively programme higher
output frequencies. This achieves the best width-frequency response for
