4.0 MAINTENANCE
Here follows a list of various maintenance operations to be carried
out periodically. Lowered operating costs and a longer lasting
seeding machine depend, among others, on the methodical and
constant observation of mese rules.
CAUTION
- The maintenance periods listed in this booklet are only
indicative and are for on normal conditions on use, therefore
be varied depending the kind of service, the more or less
dusty surroundings, seasonal factors, etc. For more serious
conditions of service, maintenance will logically be done
more often.
- Before injecting grease, the nipples must be cleaned to avoid
mud, dustand foreign bodies from mixing with the grease,
otherwise they will reduce or even annul the effect of the
lubrication.

* Use lithium-grease and grease slowly (to avoid shield dama-
ges) while rotating the bearing unit. Go on greasing until you see
new grease escaping from the unit
** All nuts and bolts must be checked and tightened after
the first few hours of use (within the first 8 hours).
Every 50 hours of implement use, all bolts and nuts must be
checked and tightened if necessary.

USE AND MAINTENANCE
- Always keep oils and grease out of reach of children.
- Read the warnings and precautions on the containers and
on the safety schemes of the products.
- Avoid contact with skin.
- After use, wash carefuly and in detail
- Treat the oils and liquids contained according to the laws in
act,
Before performing maintenance on the machinery, be sure
to wear appropriate personal protection equipment (safety
footwear, overalls, gloves and safety glasses).

All maintenance operations must be carried out with the
equipment resting on the ground and disconnected from the
tractor, with support devices securely in place and the rear
rollers resting on the ground.
4.0.1 WHEN THE MACHINE IS NEW
Before starting work, grease all the points marked on pictogram
(GREASE) on this manual.
After the first few hours of operation, check that all the screws and
bolts are still well tightened.
When the machine is new, check all hoses and connections of
the hydraulic circuit before starting up the equipment. Thereafter,
check that they are in good safe operating conditions at least once
a year. We recommend checking that the screws, bolts and
hydraulic
connections are well-tightened before use and after approx.15
hours of operation.
4.0.2 STORAGE
If, at the end of the season, a prolonged rest period is anticipated,
it is advisable to:
- Thoroughly wash the machinery with water and dry it.
- Carry out a careful inspection and replace any damaged or worn
parts.
- Securely tighten all screws and bolts.
- Lubricate all non-painted parts.
- Discharge the hydraulic cylinders of system pressure.
- Protect the hydraulic cylinders and their hoses from damage. If
the machine is not used for a long period, the hydraulic cylinder
must be regulated, or the connecting rods must be lubricated.
- Protect the machinery with a tarpaulin.
- Last but not least, place it permanently in a dry place, out of the
reach of unauthorised persons.
