6. Operation

Please make sure that the container and its contents
1.
Before using the heating jacket, check the distributor manifold and the power cable. Ensure that it
does not show signs of damage.
2.
Wrap the jacket round the vessel to be heated.
3.
Adjust the retaining strap to give a firm seat without overstretching the jacket. The jacket should lie
smoothly on the vessel.
4.
Ensure that the vessel is always open to prevent pressure build-up during heating.
5.
Connect the heating jacket to the power source.
6.
In case of an ambient temperature of 20°C and an electrical supply of 240V the heating Jacket
LM4 reaches wall temperatures up to 55°C and the heating Jacket LM3 reaches wall
temperatures up to 80°C. The jacket contains a self limiting heating membrane which will
maintain a constant temperature of the surface of the jacket. Lower temperatures can be
reached by less electrical supply. It's the responsibility of the operator to insert a suitable
transformer for this purpose.
7.
Monitor the heating process!
8.
CAUTION! The medium may give off hot fumes during heating!
9.
CAUTION! The surfaces may become hot during heating!
10. When the heating capacity for the application has been reached and the vessel has been heated, the
heating operation should be terminated.
11. Always remove the mains plug from the power source first before removing the jacket.
Otherwise the jacket may be damaged!
12. Remove the heating jacket. CAUTION! Vessel and jacket are HOT! DANGER OF BURNING!
13. Allow the heating jacket to cool for some considerable time. Do not leave to cool rolled up or
overlapping!
14. Until the next use the cooled jacket shall be stored safe from aggressive chemicals or humidity.
Do not fold or roll the jacket tightly!

7. Maintenance and servicing

Before cleaning, the heating jacket must be disconnected from the power supply. Wipe the mat and the
terminal box with a damp cloth. Do not use any solvents or abrasives and never immerse the heater in liquid.
According to the electronic and electrical appliance regulations, owners of disused appliances
are legally required to dispose of such items separately. Please help to protect the
environment by not disposing of disused appliances with household waste.
