1. General Points

No modifications or alterations can be made to the product without authorisation from the manufacturer, in the
event of this, the guarantee will be invalidated.
National standards and safety regulations must be observed.

2. Fundamental safety instructions

Anyone involved with the operation, maintenance and repair of the heating jacket should read and
be aware of the contents of the instruction manual. The heating jacket should only be operated by
trained personnel.
The mains supply connection has to be in accordance with the corresponding regulations
(VDE 01000 - Association of German Electricians). For safety reasons the equipment must be only
operated, if a Residual Current protective Device (RCD) with a release current of 30 mA is
connected upstream.
This must be checked by a qualified electrician.
In accordance with the German BGV A3 electrical equipment has to be examined in regular
intervals..
Always remove the mains plug from the power source first before removing the jacket.
Otherwise the jacket may be damaged!
The heating jacket should only be used when it is in full working order under the supervision of the
operator.
The Heating Jacket should only be used in indoor locations.
No repairs should be undertaken by the user. If th Item is damaged in any way it should be
returned to the manufacturer
The heating jacket should not be used in damp or wet conditions and should not be exposed to
aggressive chemicals. Do not use any other heating appliances in addition to the heating jacket.
Storing flammable liquids, ensuring protection from explosions
When storing and dispensing explosive substances, the guidelines of the ATEX regulations 94/9/EG and
th
1999/92/EG, the 11
safety regulation for apparatus (GSGV) and the health and safety regulation (BetrSichV)
must be observed. The atmospheric (e.g. ensuring there is sufficient ventilation), operating- and storage
conditions (for example is the container suitable for the substances stored, is it compliant? Is the storage
space adequate?) should be monitored to prevent the risk of explosions.
Installing potential balancing will prevent the risk of igniting substances though electro static charge, using
certain tools, transportation and loading equipment will prevent sparking. It is also important to ensure the
substances are not exposed to lightning, open fire and smoking.
Ensure that areas where explosions could occur feature adequate warning signs and that unauthorised
access is prevented.
The substances must be kept in compliant conditions, handled in compliance with regulations and are kept
under constant supervision. Repairs must be carried out immediately; those which could affect the explosion
rating of the apparatus must be carried out by the manufacturer.
The guidelines concerning compliant storage in accordance with storing flammable materials should be
observed.

3. Use and intended purpose

1.
Heating jackets are used for heating drums, plastic canisters and plastic lined / metal frame IBCs.
2.
They are used to heat and warm substances to prepare them in this way for, for example, further
processing.
3.
The range of adjustment allows the heating capacity to be selectively adjusted to suit the particular
application.
