Additional safety
Warning
Connect the heater only to the
correct power supply. Refer to the
tables in Appendix B.
Replace fuses only with identical
spares.
The heater must be grounded.
Warning
Use only natural gas of the family
I2H and propane of the family 13P.
When the static pressure is not
within the limitation of the heater,
this can cause damage to the fan
motor or heat exchanger.
Make sure that the static pressure in the duct
system does not exceed the maximum value.
Refer to the tables in Appendix B.
The maximum air temperature of the ducts is
240 °F.

INTRODUCTION

2.1
Purpose
This convector heater is an indirectly fired heater
with ionization protection, connections for a room
thermostat, and a flue with rain cover.
The convector heater has been tested at sea level
at a temperature of 68 °F.
2.2

Operating principles

Using the selection switch, the IMAC convector
heater can be used in one of two ways:
Position 1: the fan will switch on to supply
ventilating air to the room only.
Position 2: the burner will switch on, after
which the fan will switch on as well, after a
short while. The hot air can be conveyed to
the room to be heated by means of a system
of channels or tubes.
A room thermostat can be connected to the
control cabinet. It can be used to control the
temperature in the room to be heated.
Using the selection switch, the IMA convector
heater can be used in one of three ways:
Position 1: the fan will switch on to supply
ventilating air to the room only.
Position 2: the burner will switch on, after
which the fan will switch on as well, after a
short while. The burner stays on as long as
the room temperature is below the set
temperature of the burner thermostat.

Position 3: the burner will switch on, after
which the fan will switch on as well, after a
short while. The burner stays on
continuously.
The hot air can be conveyed to the room to be
heated by means of a system of channels or
tubes.
The burner relay on the burner will ensure the
safe and correct operation of the burner. As soon
as the burner is switched on, the combustion fan
will ventilate the combustion chamber until it is
clean. The burner makes use of a slow start
system:
Startup: the burner will burn at a low capacity.
Operational: the burner will burn at full
capacity.
After the heater is switched on, the magnet valves
N and O (fig. 5 & 8) open. There is fuel forced
through the distributor head under pressure. This
results in a combustible mixture, which is ignited
by the ignition electrode. A few seconds after start
up, the magnet valve (N, fig. 5 & 8) increases its
opening, which results in the burner burning at full
capacity. The delay of the magnet valve is set by
the manufacturer.
The installed ionization probe monitors the flame.
If no flame is formed, the burner will switch off.
After the burner has cooled off, the convector
heater will always continue to cool down further
until the combustion chamber has cooled off
sufficiently.
