PROBLEM
Roll Groove too narrow
or too wide.
Rolled Groove not per-
pendicular to pipe axis.
Pipe will not track while

Pipe rocks from side to

Incorrect size of Grooving and Driving Rolls.

Stabilizer wheel not engaging pipe.
Groover not level.
Pipe too hard.
Stabilizer too tight.

Pipe end flattened or damaged.
Hard spots in pipe material or weld seams harder

CORRECTION
Install correct size of Grooving and Driving Rolls.
Match Grooving and Driving Rolls.
Replace worn Roll.
Use straight pipe.
Cut pipe end square.
Adjust stand to level pipe.
