c) Aseptically remove the Syringe from its packaging.
Remove Protective Cap.
d) Insert Syringe into Filling Adapter by employing a
clockwise turn, as shown in figure 6. Slide Protective
sleeve off of the Filling Adapter spike.
e) Insert the Filling Adapter spike into the vial with a twisting
motion until it is fully inserted, as shown in figure 7.
Note: Adding air to a vial can minimize vacuum and
assist filling.
f) Invert the assembly.
g) Pull down Plunger to draw fluid into Syringe. Remove
bubbles as required. Complete filling by aligning red
rubber ring with the fill line, as shown in figure 8.
h) Snap off end of Plunger protruding from Syringe, as
shown in figure 9.
Note: The Filling Adapter is for use on one vial only. Once
the vial is punctured, the Filling Adapter must remain in
place for the life of the vial. A new (unused) Syringe must
be placed on the Filling Adapter at all times; immediately
after or between injections and when the vial is in storage
during and after immunization sessions. If at any time and
for any reason the Filling Adapter is removed the vial must
be discarded.
