Water Chemistry and Addition of Salt Procedures are the same as those applicable to
other Poolmaid Salt Chlorinators.
NB! However, the transformer must be connected to the timer in the same manner as the
pool pump, i.e. the unit should switch off when the pool pump does.
1. Power Touch Pad
The Power Touch Pad allows you to manually set the chlorine production level shown on
the OUTPUT DISPLAY from 1 (lowest) to (highest) or to let it operate on automatic (A).
When the unit is set on A, chlorine is produced according to the temperature of the
pool water. When the water temperature drops below 1°C (5°F), the unit switches off
automatically (which extends the life of the cell). Bars will be displayed on the Salt
Display to indicate that the unit has shut down because of cold water When the water
temperature rises above 1°C (5°F), the unit will resume operation.
NB: In indoor pools it is not recommended to run the chlorinator on Automatic, as
they are heated and the chlorinator will run on maximum chlorine production. In
indoor pools the chlorine evaporates less. Find the correct chlorine level (0.6 -1ppm)
manually, position 1-4, by measuring the chlorine level in the pool water.
2. Salt Display
When the Salt Chlorinator is in operation, the Salt Display can read as follows:
L = Salt needs to be added to the water
C = Salt content in the pool water is correct
H = Salt content is high and no further addition is required
3. Chlorine Output Display
Indicates the chlorine level being produced. This will change according to the pool water
temperature if the automatic mode has been selected.
Enhanced Design Features of Delux Models
Should the salt level drop below - .5 grams/litre (000 - 500 ppm), the unit will shut
down until the salt level is corrected.
