2 Operation and Safety instructions
This section contains important safety and operation instructions that should always be followed
during the installation, use and maintenance of the UPS.
• This product must be installed in conformity with the installation rules and preferably by a qual-
ified electrician. Incorrect installation and use of this product could lead to risks of electrical
shock or fire. Before installing, read the instructions carefully and identify a suitable place of
assembly as a function of the product. Do not open, disassemble, alter or modify the device un-
less specially indicated in the manual. All Legrand products must only be opened and repaired
by suitably trained staff authorised by Legrand. Any unauthorised opening or repair involves
the exclusion of any responsabilities, rights to replacement and guarantees. Only use Legrand
brand accessories.
• Make sure that the voltage and the frequency of the electricity network meet the UPS require-
ments (se the product label and the technical specifications in chapter 7).
• If any visible damage is found on the product during the unpacking operation, do not install the
UPS but repack the unit and return it to your reseller or distributor.
• Before switching the UPS on or connecting any loads, make sure that the UPS is connected to a
current socket with appropriate earthing.
• The applied load must not exceed the indications of the UPS label.
• The ON/OFF pushbutton of the UPS does not electrically isolate the internal components. To
isolate the UPS disconnect it from the power socket.
• Do not attempt to open or disassemble the UPS; there are no user replaceable parts. Opening
the equipment will void the warranty and introduces the risk of electric shock, even when the
power supply cable is disconnected.
• The non-separable power cable works as a disconnector. Therefore, the power socket must be
installed nearby the UPS and must be easily accessible.
• In case of mains power supply interruption, do not disconnect the power supply cable. Earth
continuity must be guaranteed for the connected load.
• It is recommended that the mains socket upstream the UPS is protected with a gG type 10A -
400V fuse.
• The UPS has its own internal power supply source (batteries). If the UPS is switched on with no
input power, power will still be present at the output.
The user cannot replace the batteries inside the UPS. Battery maintenance must be car-
ried out by personnel authorised to carry out dangerous electric material maintenance.
