Hose and cord storage (fig. A)
The hose and ac cord are stored in the storage compartment
on top of the Inflator. The holes in both sides of the cover (1)
allow for the hose and cord to be fed out from the
compartment so that the compartment cover can be closed
while the Inflator is in use.
Fitting the accessories (fig. B)
Your inflator is supplied with the standard tapered nozzles
and the needle inflator nozzle.
To operate the universal valve adaptor, pull the lever up.
Place the valve adapter over the stem of the inflation
needle or tapered nozzle.
Press the lever on the valve adapter down to lock in it
place.
Place the inflation needle or tapered nozzle into the item
to be inflated.
Note: Always leave lever up when not in use.
Operate your Inflator only with the nozzles included or with
standard tyre valves.
Make sure that the universal valve adaptor is firmly locked in
place before turning the Inflator on.
Many inflatables, have an internal flap that prevents air loss
during inflation. Unless this flap is displaced by the nozzle
it will not inflate. Push the nozzle firmly into the valve to
make sure that you push this flap out of the way.
Store the inflation needle inside one of the tapered nozzles
and snap the tapered nozzles into the storage slots located
on the bottom of the Inflator.
Pressure gauge (fig. C)
Warning! Too much air pressure causes a hazardous risk of
bursting. Check the manufacturer's maximum pressure
rating for items being inflated.
10
Your Inflator is equipped with a built-in pressure gauge that
will automatically shut off when a predetermined air pressure
is reached. The gauge, which is located on the top of the
Inflator, will give a pressure reading in p.s.i. (pounds per
square inch) as well as in bar. In the case of vehicle tyres, it
is recommended that the pressure reading be verified by
checking with a separate tyre gauge.
Using the automatic shut-off feature (fig. C)
Warning! Do not leave the inflator running unattended. It
could burst tyres or other items (Maximum pressure -
1103 Kpa/160 psi/11.03 bar).
Turn the ring on the pressure gauge until the pointer is
aligned with the required pressure.
When the Inflator reaches the desired pressure, it will
automatically shut off.
To obtain an accurate pressure measurement, turn the
Inflator OFF when reading the gauge. The gauge has an
accuracy of +/- 3% at any pressure reading.
Switching on and off (fig. D and E)
The on/off switch (7) is located at the rear of the inflator just
below the storage compartment in the cavity that acts as a
carrying handle.
AC Mode
Always fully extend the AC cord before each use.
To turn the inflator on, connect the AC cord (5) and
press the top part of the switch (7) marked "AC".
To turn the inflator off, partially press the bottom part of
the switch (7) marked "DC" to the "0" position.
12V DC Mode
Warning! Do not operate the inflator when the car engine is
running.
Always fully extend the 12 Vdc cord before each use.
To turn the inflator on, connect the 12 Volt cord to the
socket (8) in the storage compartment and plug the
12 Volt adaptor into your vehicle's 12 Volt accessory
socket and press the bottom part of the switch (7)
marked "DC".
To turn the inflator off, partially press the top part of the
switch (7) marked "AC" to the "0" position.
Maintenance
Your Black & Decker tool has been designed to operate over
a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance or cleaning
on the appliance, unplug the appliance.
From time to time wipe the appliance with a damp cloth.
Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner. Do
not immerse the appliance in water.
