15.1 Safety information
Attention
Please observe the safety instructions, before cleaning your device.
► Unplug the device when not in use and before any cleaning. Let it cool down.
► Never immerse the bottom of the kettle, the base, the cable or plug into water and other
liquid and avoid contact of these parts with moisture. Risk of electric shock.
► Do not use iron brush, aggressive kitchen cleaners or sharp cleaning tools for cleaning.
► Let the kettle with its lid and the tea filter with its lid cool down before cleaning.
15.2 Cleaning
Thoroughly rinse the interior of the kettle with water and let it dry. Remove the tea from the
tea filter and rinse it thoroughly under running water.
The exterior of the kettle, the lid and the base can be cleaned with a damp soft cloth. After
this dry all components.
15.3 Descaling
Depending on the hardness of water you should descale the device once every two
weeks.
Remove the tea filter from the kettle.
Fill the kettle with water and a commercial descaler or add 1 cup of white vinegar into
the water.
Warm up the mixture to 80°C or follow the instructions of the descaler.
Do not allow the mixture to boil to prevent overcooking.
Pour the cooled mixture away and thoroughly rinse the interior of the kettle.
Heat kettle filled with water up to 100°C with water again. Let the water cool down. Then
pour it away.
Repeat the process if necessary.
► Regularly decalcifying of your device will reduce the electricity used and prolong the life
of the device.
► The guarantee excludes devices which have stopped working or do not work properly
due to lack of descaling.
16 Disposal of the Old Device
Old electric and electronic devices frequently still contain valuable materials.
However, they also contain damaging substances, which were necessary for
their functionality and safety. If these were put in the non-recyclable waste or
were handled incorrectly, they could be detrimental to human health and the
environment. Therefore, do not put your old device into the non-recyclable waste under
any circumstances.
