OPERATION - Overheating safeguard
You can use the deep fryer only when it is filled with
oil or liquid fat. Do not use the appliance if the bowl
is empty or does not contain sufficient oil or liquid
fat. The deep fryer is equipped with an overheating
safeguard. This will be activated if the temperature
is rising, for example, you use the appliance without
(sufficient) oil or liquid fat. Should this happen, you
have to reset the deep fryer.
1. Switch off the deep fryer by turning the tempera-
ture control dial to MIN, the timer dial to OFF and
disconnecting the plug from the wall socket.
2. Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
3. Lift the frying basket's handle to the horizontal
position so that it locks into place.
4. Press the lid release button to open the lid. The
lid will automatically open to the vertical position.
5. Take the frying basket from the pan.
6. Take out the control panel / heating element by lifting it up.
7. Reset the appliance by pressing with a long (min. 6 cm long) non-metal pin against the reset switch in
the hole at the backside of the control panel (see figure 4).
8. Reassemble the deep fryer.
OPERATION - T ips and directions
Make sure that the food is thoroughly dry before you fry it. Moist products can cause severe splashing of
the hot oil or liquid fat.
Remove as much ice as possible from frozen food; this will prevent splashing.
Do not fry oven-ready chips.
Do not fry potatoes that have been stored for too long, or are beginning to develop shoots.
Do not put too much food in the frying basket at one time.
Filter the oil or liquid fat at regular intervals to remove any breadcrumbs and particles of food.
Take extreme care when filling and emptying the deep fryer, and when opening and closing the lid. The
inside of the lid and the bowl are both very hot; the hot vapours and splashes of liquid fat or oil can also
cause burns.
