A. Set the gate as wide as possible in the desired location making sure you allow for 1.5" on
each side for the catches and hinges.

5. Secure your hinges and catches to the wall:
A. Cut out the templates provided and select the template for the catches you intend to use.
These templates will be used to mark the drilling holes. Decide which side you want your
gate to swing from and place the templates on the wall appropriately. Be sure you have the
correct end lined up with the floor. (Diagram 6)
B. Drill and mount your hinges
• For wood, drill 5/64" pilot holes and use the Screws provided to drill directly into the wood.
• For drywall, drill 7/32" hole for the Wall Anchors and insert them before you screw into the drywall.
• For hollow plaster board walls or conditions other than wood or drywall you will need to
purchase the appropriate hardware at your local hardware store.
• Mount to clean, flat and secure surfaces only

C. Check to be sure that your gate aligns with the catches template when closed. You may need
to raise or lower the template accordingly. If the floor is not level or is not true, adjust the
template location accordingly then drill and fix your catches using the guidelines in Step B.
D. You can now hang your gate in the hinges. (Diagram 7) When hanging your gate make sure
you align both the top and bottom hinge pins with the mounted Hinge Components before
lowering the gate. Both hinge pins must be inserted simultaneously for correct assembly.
The bottom hinge will lock into place and the tab must be pushed in before it will release.
(Diagram 8) NOTE: To remove the gate you must depress the tab in order to release the pin
from the hinge. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage that may affect the
safety and performance of your gate
