A Positive Stop (a fixed angular setting) is
provided for the 45˚ rear jaw angle.
TO ACCESS THE 45˚ POSITIVE STOP:
• Ensure that the location pin (Fig. 9) is in its
upper (unset) position.
Set the rear vice jaw to approximately 45˚ with
the aid of the protractor scale.
• Turn the location pin (Fig. 10) ¼ of a turn.
This will release the pin and allow the spring
in the mechanism to push the pin downwards,
locking the vice jaw in place.
REPOSITIONING THE REAR VICE JAW:
There are three (3) possible positions available for
the rear vice jaw, with two mounting holes at each
position.
The rear vice jaw is most usually attached to the
base of the machine in the rearmost position. This
enables the widest section workpieces to be cut.
• Completely remove the lever handle. (Fig. 11)
The lever handle is a spring loaded ratchet
type. Pull up the Lever Handle and reposition to
continue loosening.
• Completely remove fence securing bolt, washer
and spacer (Fig. 12) that secure the rear vice
jaw to the machines base.
• S355CPS & S380CPS ONLY Ensure that the
location pin (Fig. 9) is in its upper (unset)
position.
• Place the vice jaw into its new service position.
• Refit the lever handle, fence securing bolt,
washer and spacer.
• S355CPS & S380CPS ONLY Turn the location
pin (Fig. 10) ¼ of a turn.
This will release the pin and allow the spring
in the mechanism to push the pin downwards,
locking the vice jaw in place.
Note: The swivelling front vice jaw will
automatically align with the rear vice jaw as the
vice is tightened. The swivelling jaw also enables
irregular shaped workpieces to be held in the vice.
FRONT VICE JAW ADJUSTMENT
S355CPS & S380CPS ONLY
For speed and convenience, the vice operating
system fitted to these models is equipped with a
Quick Release Mechanism.

OPERATE THE QUICK RELEASE MECHANISM:
• Lift and rotate sleeve nut (Fig. 13) rearwards.
Slide the front jaw to the required position.
• Return the sleeve nut to its normal service
position. (Fig. 14). Tighten the vice.
• Check the security of the workpiece before
attempting to make a cut.
CHIP COLLECTION
S355CPSL
A specially shaped steel shield (Fig. 15)
prevents the cut debris from being expelled
forcefully from the machine.
The accumulated chippings behind the machine
will need to be removed from on a regular basis.
WARNING: Some of the chippings may be sharp, or
in other ways pose a hazard to the operator. It may
be necessary for the operator to wear suitable PPE.
Dispose of the collected chippings in an
environmentally responsible way.
S355CPS & S380CPS
A specially shaped shield prevents the cut
debris from being expelled from the machine and
diverts the debris downwards into a collection
tray. (Fig. 16)
To maintain operational safety and efficiency
the accumulated chippings should be removed
from the machine when the chip collection tray is
approximately 2/3 full.
The tray is located under the saw and can be
accessed from the rear. To release the try, turn the
locking handle ¼ of a turn.
Slide the tray out of the base and dispose of
the collected chippings in an environmentally
responsible way.
Refit the tray before using the saw again.
WARNING: Only clear chippings from the
machine with the machine disconnected from the
mains power supply.
Some of the chippings may be sharp, or in other
ways pose a hazard to the operator. It may be
necessary for the operator to wear suitable PPE.
Dispose of the collected chippings in an
environmentally responsible way.
