Fuel Filter Service
Clean the fuel filter element every 20
hours in use.
WARNING
Improper use of solvents can result in
fire or explosion.
Clean the fuel filter in a well-ventilated
area away from sources of sparks or
flame, including appliances with a pilot
light. Never use gasoline or low-flash
point solvents to clean the fuel filter.
Take out the fuel filter with the fuel
●
tube out of the fuel tank, and then
remove the fuel filter from the fuel tube
to keep dust from entering into the fuel
filter.
Clean the fuel filter in a bath of high
●
flash-point solvent.
Dry the fuel filter before installing.

Install the fuel filter to the fuel tube,
●
and then put it into the fuel tank.
Install the fuel tank cap to the fuel
●
tank, and tighten the fuel tank cap
firmly.
NOTE
If fuel does not flow better with the fuel
⃝
filter cleaned, replace the fuel filter with
new one.

Spark Plug Service
Clean or replace spark plug and reset
gap every 50 hours in use.
Hot engine parts can cause severe
burns.
Allow engine to stop and cool before
checking spark plugs.

Disconnect the spark plug cap from

the spark plug and remove the spark
plug.
Clean the electrodes (B) by scraping
●
with a wire brush to remove carbon
deposits and wetness.
Inspect for cracked porcelain or other
●
wear and damage. Replace the spark
plug if necessary.
Check the spark plug gap and reset it
●
if necessary.
The gap must be between 0.8 mm
(0.031 in.) and 0.9 mm (0.035 in.). To
change the gap bend only side-elec-
trode, using a spark plug tool.
Install and tighten the spark plug to 15
●
N·m (1.5 kgf·m) then connect the
spark plug cap.
Fit the spark plug caps on the spark
●
plug securely.
