Installation
Warning!
Installation, connection and start-up by unauthorized and unqualified personnel
This may result in personal or material damage or other dangerous situations.
→ Any work on the transmitter has to be carried out by authorized and qualified personnel.
Caution!
Touching hot or cold surfaces
This may result in injuries (e.g., thermal damages).
→ Observe the ambient conditions at the measuring point during installation. Wear the required personal
protective equipment. Observe the applicable rules.
Caution!
The WaveInjector has sharp edges, e.g., on transducer box, pipe planer or pipe mounting fixture.
Risk of injury!
→ Wear the required personal protective equipment. Observe the applicable rules.
4.1
Measuring point selection
Important!
The pipe has to be sufficiently stable to withstand the pressure exerted by the WaveInjector.
• Observe the notes on the selection of the measuring point, see operating instruction FLUXUS.
• Make sure that the parameters of the selected measuring point correspond to the parameters specified in the order (e.g.,
outer pipe diameter, temperature range). For the operating temperature range of the WaveInjector, see Technical speci-
fication.
• Observe the pipe wall thickness. When the pipe mounting fixture is mounted on the pipe, large pressure forces occur.
The pipe must not be deformed. In the case of a steel pipe, a wall thickness of 3 mm is normally sufficient to avoid dam-
aging the pipe.
• The measuring point on the pipe has to be as even as possible. Use the upper side of the pipe planer to check the even-
ness, see Fig. 4.1.
