AUTOTUNING

OPERATION OF THE U KEY
The function assigned to the U key can be set through parameter "USrb" within "]PAn" group.
The parameter is programmed as:
= tunE: Press the key for at least 1 sec. to enable/disable Autotuning.
All parameters referred to the AUTOTUNING functions are found within "]rEG" group. The AUTOTUNING
function allows PID controller automatic tuning.
The AUTOTUNING function calculates PID parameters through a tuning cycle, after this cycle
parameters are stored by the equipment and they remain consistent during control.
This function automatically calculates the following parameters:
"Pb" - Proportional Band
"tcr1" - Cycle time for output 1.rEG
"Int" - Integral Time
"dEr" - Derivative Time
"FuOC" - Fuzzy Overshoot Control
and, for double-acting PID control, also:
"tcr2" - Cycle time for output 2.rEG
"Prat" - P 2.rEG/ P 1.rEG ratio
Activate AUTOTUNING as follows:
1) Set and activate the required Set point.
2) Set "Cont" =Pid or = 3 Pt, if equipment controls motor drive with real-time position control.
3) Set "Auto"
4) Quit parameter programming.
5) Connect equipment to controlled system.
6) Activate autotuning by means of the duly programmed U key
Now Autotuning function is activated and this is indicated by the TUN led flashing. The controller then
activates a series of operations for the connected system in order to calculate the most suitable PID
control parameters. If process value requirements to start Autotuning are not verified, "ErAt" will be
displayed to indicate it is impossible to perform the operation; the equipment will set to normal control
mode, according to previously set parameters.
To delete "ErAt" error, press P.
Autotuning cycle lasts maximum 12 hours.
If the process is not completed within 12 hours, the equipment will display "noAt" .
While, in case of probe error, the equipment will stop current cycle.
Values calculated by the Autotuning will be automatically stored by the equipment to PID control
parameters as soon as Autotuning cycle is completed successfully.
"SOFT START" AND INITIAL HOLD DIGITAL FUNCTION
All parameters referred to Soft Start operation are found within "]rEG" group.
This function allows user NOT to start control until reading exceeds the value set at SSt.L "Initial hold
disable threshold" or until a time-out is triggered, with time being set at SSt "initial hold time" (whichever
comes first)
Set SSt = Inf (infinite) to disable timed output (only the one connected to SSt.L remains valid)
Use SSt.E "initial hold enable" to enable the function.
Operation depends on the following parameters:
"SSt.E" - Initial hold enable
"SSt.L" - Initial hold disable threshold
"SSt" - Initial hold time
Once user sets SST = YES (enable function) and the two parameters to required values, equipment
will keep "minimum flame" upon start-up.
When measured temperature reaches value set at SSt.L, equipment enables normal control.
When "SSt" is different from inf (infinite), normal control can be enabled when "SSt" is reached (the
first of the two conditions).
DIGITAL INPUT
Equipment features two digital inputs that can be set through "dIF" parameter within "]InP" group.
The diF parameter is programmed as = balt
Digital input 1
- Open Contact = PID control with valve control without feedback
- Closed Contact = high-low flame control
