TRIPLEX-Application
Adjustment instruction for KXA-5-1/3„Triplex" evaluation unit -... with KXS-....Sensor
A special feature for the three-electrode measuring principle allows it to assign to one proximity
measurement up to three free selectable switching points. In general the function of the KXA-5-1/3
evaluation unit is the same as the function of the KXA-5-1 1-Point evaluation unit but it is equipped with
three limit value outputs, so that 4 different switching states can be detected.
To give an example, the application could be:
• Sensor free
• empty glass bottle
• full glass bottle
• metallic gripper is on the glass bottle
The mounting is made in the same way as for the standard models and the same holds for the basic
instruction of the adjustment of the KXS/KXA-systems, but for the Triplex adjustment we recommend the
following steps:
•
All 3 switching points are adjusted to the same state (e. g. Sensor free)
•
Then all 3 switching points are adjusted to the state "empty glass bottle" is present, the
channel 1 (below on the evaluation unit) remains in this position.
•
Then the residual switching points are adjusted to the state „full glass bottle" and the
channel 2 remains on this position.
•
Finally the switching point for the last channel is adjusted.
The angle of rotations on adjustment from switching point to switching point are an index of the safety
or correctness of the measurement. The angle of rotations need to correspond to the hysteresis. For a
safe measurement it should be larger than the hysteresis.
