Adjustment KXA-5-...
The adjustment is made at the amplifier after mounting. First find the switching point by means of the
adjustment potentiometer. Right-turn increases the sensitivity (LED yellow on), Left-turn reduces the
sensitivity (LED green on). The maximum sensitivity can be reached as follows: Starting from the state
LED yellow on turn to the left until the LED green is just on. In practice other criterion are given for the
adjustment of the sensitivity, e.g. the position of the object to be detected. In this case the adjustment
should be made with the measuring object in the required position.
Attention:
Because of the high sensitivity of the proximity sensor it is possible that during the adjustment the hand
can lead to the switching of the sensor or may influence the switching point. Therefore it is important to
take note, that there are constant conditions within the measuring area, except for the change for which
detection is required. Please check the function after adjustment and correct it if necessary.
After mechanical changes or change to the position of the sensor or alterations within the measuring
area a re-adjustment is necessary.
„Empty" adjustment with evaluation unit
KXA-5-1-.../5-.-3
• The „empty" adjustment is made with no target
in front of the sensor (see fig.1)
• Adjust the switching point with the screw
driver on the potentiometer (LED changes
yellow/green)
• The most sensitive adjustment is reached, when
from the position LED = yellow on the otentiome-
ter is turned to the left until the green LED is just
on.
• The more one turns to the left, the less sensitive
is the adjustment

With KFX-5-M-3... or KFX-5-S-3... this procedure has to be made for each measuring point.
Information on multiple switching point measurements with Master/Slave units:
• A connection cable is necessary between Master Unit and Slave Units; this is supplied with the Slave
Units.
• The Master Unit can be used without Slave Units. The Slave Units will not work without Master-Units.
„Full" adjustment with evaluation unit
KXA-5-1-.../5-.-3
• The „full" adjustment is made with the target
placed in front of the sensor. (see fig. 2)
• Adjust the switching point with the screw
driver on the potentiometer (LED changes
yellow/green)
• The most insensitive adjustment is reached,
when from the position LED = green on the
potentiometer is turned to the right until the
yellow LED is just on
• The more one turns to the right, the more
sensitive is the adjustment
