8.3. Replacing the paint needle packing
Replacement is required when material escapes from the self-adjusting
paint needle packing.
Removing the paint needle packing
■ Loosen counter nut [1-4].
■ Unscrew adjustment screw [1-3] with counter nut and remove from gun
body.
■ Remove spring and paint needle [9-1].
■ Remove trigger [9-2].
■ Unscrew paint needle packing [9-3] and remove from gun body.
Installing the paint needle packing
■ Screw paint needle packing [9-3] into gun body.
■ Attach trigger [9-2].
■ Insert spring and paint needle [9-1].
■ Screw adjustment screw [1-3] with counter nut [1-4] into gun body.
After assembly, set the material flow rate as instructed in Chapter 7.2.
8.4. Replacing the air piston, air piston spring and air mi-
crometer
Warning!
Risk of injury due to loose air micrometer.
The air micrometer can fly out of paint spray gun uncontrolled if locking
screw is not tight.
→ Ensure air micrometer locking screw is tightly secured. Tighten, if
necessary.
Replacement is necessary if air escapes at the air nozzle or air
micrometer when the trigger has not been squeezed.
Removing the air piston, air piston spring and air micrometer
■ Unscrew locking screw [10-1] and remove from gun body.
■ Pull air micrometer [10-4] out of gun body.
■ Remove air piston with air piston spring [10-5].
■ Remove air piston rod [10-3].
Installing the air piston, air piston spring and air micrometer
■ Insert air piston rod [10-3] into correct position.
■ Grease air piston with air piston spring [10-5] and air micrometer [10-
4] with SATA gun grease (# 48173) and insert.
■ Press air micrometer [10-4] into gun body.
