Operation

On the control panel there are 'ON',
'STAND BY' and 'OFF' switches (1) for
the inverter. For the battery charger, there
is an 'ON' and 'OFF' switch (2) on the
control panel. For normal use, switch the
inverter to 'STAND BY'.
The inverter will switch itself on when cur-
rent is required. However, if a piece of
equipment requires very little current, the
inverter will not switch itself on. In this sit-
uation, switch the inverter on manually
with the 'ON' switch. It is also possible
that a piece of equipment is not actually
'off' when switched off (For example:
Power to the secondary winding of a
transformer is switched off, while the pri-
mary winding remains connected). The
inverter will respond to this by switching itself on and off con-
stantly. This can damage the inverter. In this situation, switch the
inverter 'ON' manually, or turn the equipment off by pulling its
plug out of the socket.
The inverter and battery charger can be switched on to operate
together.
The inverter will then switch automatically between inverter and
charger as required, depending on whether power is, or is not,
being supplied from the dockside mains or generator set.
When the battery is disconnected, or the battery main switch is
turned off, the inverter/battery charger switches off automatical-
ly. When the battery is reconnected or battery main switch is
turned on again, the inverter and the battery charger must both
be switched on again.

Remote Control

RCP500 and RCP1500
The remote control panel contains the same switch functions
as the main control panel.
The switches on both remote and main control panel can be
used in combination with each other. Thus, it is possible to
turn the inverter on from the main control panel and off from
the remote panel, and vice versa.

The following functions are also indicated on the remote con-
trol panel:
'Inverter ON'
'Inverter STAND BY'
'Charger ON'
'Failure'
RCP1500
Use the knob to adjust the maximum charging current of the
battery charger. By decreasing the maximum charging current
also the input power is decreased. Using a dock side power
connection with a (too) small fuse for charging the batteries is
then possible.
