7.7. CONNECTING THE UNIT TO THE DUCT SYSTEM
• Never use the unit as a support or weight-bearing structure for ductwork. Ducts must
have its specifi c supports that prevents the weight of these falls on the UVF ECOWATT.
• Connect the unit to the air ducts using fl exible connectors to prevent vibrations from
being transmitted to the duct system.
• Check to make sure air intake and fl ow are not being blocked and that there are no
obstacles avoiding the adequate air circulation. Failure to do so will affect the effi cien-
cy of the system.
7.8. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
IMPORTANT!
To avoid that the fi lters included in the unit get dirty, these fi lters are supplied in a plastic
bags. Before switching on the unit, it is necessary to remove these bags and reassemble
the fi lters, making sure that the air direction matches the one indicated in the fi lter frame.
• The installation must be carried out by qualifi ed personnel.
• Cables will be installed whose section complies with current directives and prevent a hea-
ting of these and a voltage drop higher than that allowed by the product. The current regu-
lations will be complied and at all times the existing specifi cations will be followed in the
installation project.
• Before connecting the cables, check that the electrical installation is disconnected and that
there is no electrical voltage in the installation.
• Once installed, the unit must meet the following Directives:
− Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC
− Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
− Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EC
• Once these operations have been carried out, it is necessary to verify the tightening of all
the electrical connections (a badly tightened cable can cause irreparable damage).
• Check that the connection to earth has been correctly carried out and that the thermal and
over-current protections have been regulated according to the values established on the
nameplate.
The power supply is made in the external terminal box. In no case it is necessary to open
the fan access register during electrical connection work. This register should only be ope-
ned for maintenance tasks: Fan cleaning or replacement.
