Cut Control for Bevel Cuts
10

15
To enable you to track the cutting line, the viewing window for
"Cut Control" has a mark 9 for right-angled cuts at 0° and a
mark 11 for leftward-slanting bevel cuts at 45°. On the scale
23 you will find marks for 22.5, 30 and 45°. Intermediate
cuts are possible.
The cutting mark for bevel cuts between 0° and 45° results
proportionally. It can additionally be drawn on the "Cut
Control" viewing window with a non-permanent marker, and
easily be removed again.
For accurate working, it is best to carry out a test cut.
Starting Operation
Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage of the
power source must agree with the voltage specified on
the nameplate of the machine. Power tools marked
with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Switching On and Off
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
To start the machine, press the On/Off switch 1.
Adjusting the Speed (AdvancedCut 50)
You can preselect the required speed using the thumbwheel
for speed preselection 2.
Working Advice
When sawing small or thin workpieces, always use a
firm support.
Saw with moderate pressure in order to achieve optimal and
precise cutting results. Applying additional pressure increas-
es performance.
Sawing with Guide Rail (AdvancedCut 50) (see figure E)
A guide rail can be used to widen the base plate and make the
contact surface larger.
The guide rail 22 is used to carry out straight cuts.
The guide rail 22 must not extend beyond the face side of
the workpiece where the cut is to be started.
Working with the guide rail 22 requires a guide-rail adapter
20. The guide-rail adapter 20 can be inserted on both sides
through the four openings in the base plate 3. Use the locking
lever 21 to lock the guide-rail adapter 20.
Attach the saw with the pre-mounted guide-rail adapter 20 to
the guide rail 22.
Switch the machine on and guide it in the cutting direction
applying moderate and steady feed.

45° bevel cuts are possible with the short side of the Bosch
plastic guide rail (2 609 255 732).
Plunge Cutting (see figure F)
Plunge cutting can be done only in wood!
Plunge cutting is possible only with a bevel angle of 0°.
Place the power tool so that the rear edge of the base plate 3
rests on the workpiece, without the saw blade 8 touching the
workpiece, and switch it on. On power tools with speed con-
trol, select the maximum speed. Press the power tool firmly

against the workpiece and allow the saw blade to plunge slow-
ly into the workpiece.
As soon as the front part of the base plate 3 rests fully on the
workpiece, continue sawing in a forward direction along the
required cutting line.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning (see figure H)
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and ventilation slots clean.
Clean the saw blade and the saw blade receptacle dry
only. Use a fine brush to remove more deep-seated dirt.
The saw blade is maintenance-free. The chain of the saw
blade does not need to be oiled.
Clean the SDS saw blade receptacle 15 regularly. For this, re-
move the saw blade from the power tool and lightly tap out the
power tool on a level surface.
Heavy contamination of the machine can lead to malfunc-
tions. Therefore, do not saw materials that produce a lot of
dust from below or overhead.
In extreme conditions, always use dust extraction as
far as possible. Blow out ventilation slots frequently
and install a portable residual current device (PRCD).
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to
be done by Bosch or an authorized Bosch service agent in or-
der to avoid a safety hazard.
