WARNING: with the engine idling (2600 - 3000 rpm) the cutting
tool shoud not rotate.
If the idle speed is too high turn counterclckwise the screw
(H) Fig. 3
WARNING
After an intense use of the machine, don't suddenly
extinguish the engine but allow it to idle for a few
minutes, in order to stabilize it.
From time to time make sure all machine screws are firmly
secured. Replace damaged, worn, cracked or warped parts.
Always make sure hedgetrimmer and safety devices have
been assembled correctly.
AIR FILTER Fig.15 -15/A
Check and clean regularly according to the working
conditions.
- Press down the lever (A) and remove the cover (2).
- Take out the filter (B).
- Wash element (B) with mix gasoline / oil and wring strongly.
- IMPERATIVE to oil the element (B) using ACTIVE oil
filter
- Check the parts and replace them if necessary. Reassemble
in the opposite sequence to that listed for disassembly.
WARNING:For best results and long engine life, use
ACTIVE air filter sponge oil Ref. 20010.
FUEL FILTER
Fig. 16 - To clean and to replace fuel filter, remove the fuel
tank cap (1) and pull out the filter (2) with a hook wire (3) or
long forleps.Check fuel filter (2) periodically;replace it if too
dirty.
ENGINE (IN ORDER TO AVOID HEAVY FAILURES)
Regularly: it is important,in order to avoid engine overheating,
to remove dust and dirt from slots, from cylinder, cap and fins
using a brush or compressed air.
SPARK PLUG
Fig. 17 - From time to time(at least every 50 hours)remove
and clean the spark plug and check the electrode gap(0.5-
0.6 mm.). Replace spark plug about every 100 working hours
or whenever it is extremely encrusted. Heavily encrusted
electrodes can result from an incorrect carburetor setting or
GRIP ROTATE
Pull the ring (1) to handle (2) and rotate in the direction of
the arrow.
In this case remains in the grip position rotating operation
may change the direction of cutting.
Mufflers fitted with catalytic converters get very hot
during use and remain so for some time after stopping.
This also applies at idle speed. Contact can result in
burns to the skin.
Never add fuel to a machine with a running or hot
engine.
RISK OF FIRE.
Move at least 3 m from refuelling site before starting
engine. Do not smoke!
8. REGULAR MAINTENANCE
from wrong fuel mixture (too much oil in the fuel) or a poor
quality oil in the fuel mix.Check and correct.
REDUCTION GEAR AND BEVEL GEAR fig.18
Every 20 working hours:
- remove the nipples (1) and slip into the hole the grease tube
nozzel. Press the grease tube till the grease comes out from
the hole.
Clean the excess grease and fit the screw plug (1)
Recommended ACTIVE grease (no-melt type) P/N 21230
BEVEL GEAR ADJUSTMENT fig. 19
IMPORTANT: every 50 hours check the bevel gear end play
as follow:
- remove the lock plate (1)
- loosen the lock nut (2)
- Eliminate the end play by tightening the screw (3) in order
that the hedgetrimmer blades can rotate on the axis with a
sligh friction.
- When the adjustment is made tighten the lock nut (2)
holding at the same time the screw (3) with the allen key (4).
- Fit and secure the lock plate (1).
BLADES SHARPENING
Don't work with damaged or blunt blades in order to avoid to
overload the machine. The blades must be sharpened by
anauthorized service center. If the blades are worn out they
must be replaced.
From time to time make sure the blade screws are firmly
secured.
BLADES
Regularly clean and to oil the blades in order to always get
the best performance.
9. ROTOFIX SYSTEM
GRIP FIXED
Rotate the ring until the graft is placed in their home. The
ring snaps and goes to lock the handle in position chosen
by the operator. In this case, the grip remains in a fixed
location
