4 Preparation for Measurement
4.3

Initialising the vertical circle

Following the alignment in accordance with the
procedure described above, the vertical circle of
the theodolite must be initialised (observe
information shown in the display).
 To initialise the telescope, turn the telescope
slowly in both directions until the message ("SET
0") disappears and the angle display for the
vertical measurement is shown.
The unit is now ready for operation.
After switching on the instrument and initialising
the vertical circle, a display similar to the
illustration on the left appears.
Top line: Display of the vertical angle
