FUNCTIONS (FRONT)
We strongly advice that you read the Deckadance "getting started manual" (see CDROM) to learn all about
the nifty functions of this DJ-software. However below you will find a list of special button assignments to
maximize your mixing experience!
Please read it and try all functions, you will be amazed by the ease-of-use !!!
1. ON/OFF button: used to switch the controller ON/OFF.
2. X-PARAMETER knob: used to set the effect X-parameters.
3. Y-PARAMETER knob: used to set the effect Y-parameters.
4. EFFECT knob: used to browse the available effects, press the knob to select the desired effect.
5. EFFECT ON/OFF button: used to turn the effects section ON/OFF.
6. EFFECT display: shows which effect you selected.
7. MODE buttons: used to make special settings for the sampler section:
Press MODE button: toggles the sampler between BEAT SYNC (button is lit) and NORMAL
mode (button is dark)
Press MODE & SHIFT button: used to record a new sample, two modes are available:
In auto loop mode: first choose the desired loop length (see n°10)

In manual loop mode: press MODE & SHIFT button to start the recording, press MODE
o
& SHIFT button again to stop the recording.
8. SAMPLE buttons: used to play the recorded samples (button is lit when a sample is recorded):
Press SAMPLE button: plays the recorded sample as long as the button is pressed.
Press SAMPLE & SHIFT button: plays the recorded sample in a continuous loop until the
SAMPLE button is pressed again.
9. HOT CUE buttons: used program and recall up to 4 cue points per track.
Press HOT CUE button: player will instantly return to the preprogrammed cue point.
Press HOT CUE & SHIFT button: a new cue point will be programmed "on the fly"
10. LOOP +/- buttons: used to select different auto loop and sample lengths: 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, ¼, ½, 1/1, 2/1.
Press LOOP+ & SHIFT button: switch auto loop function ON
Press LOOP- & SHIFT button: switch auto loop function OFF
11. LOOP buttons: used to program and play loops, two modes are available:
In auto loop mode:
Press LOOP IN button: as long as the LOOP-IN button is pressed, the auto loop is
o
played (see n°10 to set the loop length)
Press LOOP IN & SHIFT button: the auto loop is played (see n°10 to set the loop
o
length) until you press the LOOP IN button again to stop it.
Press LOOP OUT button: as long as the LOOP-OUT button is pressed, the auto leap is
o
played (see n°10 to set the loop length)
Press LOOP OUT & SHIFT button: the auto leap is played (see n°10 to set the loop
o
length) until you press the LOOP IN button again to stop it.
RELOOP button: not used
o
In manual loop mode:
Press LOOP IN button: the begin point of the manual loop is set.

Press LOOP OUT button: the endpoint of the manual loop is set and the loop starts
o
playing. Press the LOOP OUT button again (while the loop is playing) to stop the loop.
Press RELOOP button: if a loop is programmed, it starts playing immediately from the
o
start point.
12. CUE button: two functions available:
Press CUE button: return immediately to the last cue point.
Press CUE & SHIFT button: return immediately to the beginning of the track.
13. PLAY/PAUSE button: two different functions available:
Press PLAY button: start/stop playback of the loaded track.
Press PLAY & SHIFT button: start the loaded track in "full beat matched sync" with the other
deck. (an amazing option!!!)
14. SHIFT button: also called "the MAGIC button" , when pressed together with any of the other buttons, it
doubles their functions.
15. JOG dial: several functions are available:
During normal play: used for pitch bending
With JOG SEEK on: used to look up a certain position in the track (see n°18)
In pause mode: used to look up a certain position in the track
With SCRATCH on: used to simulate vinyl scratching (see n°16)
16. SCRATCH button: used to switch the scratch function on/off
17. PFL button: used to monitor the track via your headphones.
18. JOG SEEK button: enables the "fast search" function to look up a certain part of a track.
19. PITCH fader: used to change the speed of the loaded track.
20. PITCH BEND+/- buttons: used to match the beats of two tracks, can be used in two ways:
Press PITCH BEND+/- buttons: the music will play faster/slower as long as you press the
buttons.
Press PITCH BEND+ & SHIFT button: player jumps 1 beat FORWARD in the track.
Press PITCH BEND- & SHIFT button: player jumps 1 beat BACK in the track.
21. PITCH ON button: used to switch the pitch fader (n°19) on/off.
22. SYNC button: used to synchronize the beats to the other deck, two possibilities are available:
Press SYNC button: the beat is matched to the other deck every time you press the button.
Press SYNC & SHIFT button: the beat is matched and continuously linked to the other deck
until you press the SYNC button again.
23. PITCH LOCK button: used to switch the master tempo on/off.
24. TRACK SELECT knob: press the knob to monitor the selected track before you load it in one of the
players. You can select files in two ways:
Turn the knob: you can browse the tracks in the playlist one by one.
Turn the knob with pressed SHIFT button: you can browse the tracks in the playlist very fast,
with every click 10 tracks are skipped.
25. LOAD TO DECK1 button: loads the selected file from the playlist to deck1.
26. LOAD TO DECK2 button: loads the selected file from the playlist to deck2.
27. CHANNELfaders: used to set the output level of the decks when the controller is in standalone mode,
in external mixer mode these faders can be assigned to other functions.
28. TONE controls: used to control the high, mid, low frequencies of the decks when the controller is in
standalone mode, in external mixer mode these controls can be assigned to other functions.
29. CROSSFADER: used to mix from one deck to the other when the controller is in standalone mode, in
external mixer mode this fader can be assigned to other functions.
