- Correct Scale Reading: Do not put the multimeter in a metallic
surface. During the measurement, if you see the image of the
pointer in the mirrored scale, there is reading error because the
parallax problem. To avoid it just look the pointer always of front,
so the pointer is overlapped its image. Do not forget to use the
proper multiplication or division factor for each range. For example,
in the case of 2.5V DC range is used, make the reading in the
0~250 (DCV.A - BLACK) scale and divide the value by 100 (divi-
sion factor).
A. DC/AC Voltage Measurement
1. Connect the red test lead to +AVΩ terminal and the black test
lead to -COM terminal.
2. Select the rotary switch to the desired voltage type and range
(DC or AC). If the signal magnitude is not known, select the big-
gest range and then reduce until getting a satisfactory reading.
Remember that the reading will be more accurate is it is taken in
the upper half of the scale.
3. If possible, for safety purpose, turn off the power and discharge
all capacitors of the circuit under test before connecting the test
leads to the points to be measured.
4. Touch the test leads to the points to be measured. To obtain the
value of measured voltage, make the reading in DCV.A scale for
DC voltage, and in the case of AC voltage, the ACV scale must
be used.
B. DC Current Measurement
1. Connect the red test lead to + AVΩ terminal and the black test
lead to -COM terminal.
For high current between 0.25 A DC and 10A DC, connect the
red probe into the DC terminal 10A and the black probe on the
terminal-COM.
