Lock the work piece.
Pull the saw aggregate to you.
Start the machine.
Lower the saw aggregate and cut into
the work piece slowly.
Cut the work piece slowly. Push the
saw aggregate backwards.
Advantage: When the material splinters
then not into the direction where the
operator stands.

No
cleaning,
maintenance when machine is run-
ning.
Be safe:
Disconnect the machine from
the power supply.
The machine is low maintenance and it contains
only a few parts which need some upkeep
works. Damages that decrease the safety of the
machine must be removed immediately!
5.1
Changing the saw blade
WHEN: Change between saw blades with
different teeth; spare of a damaged, bat-
tered saw blade
ATTENTION: Only use saw blades with:
Max. diameter of 305mm
Max. thickness of 3mm.
Max. recommended speed of the saw
blade higher than 4200 rpm.
Lock the saw aggregate in the highest
position.
Lock the saw blade by pushing the lev-
er on the engine and turning the saw
blade with the hand till the lever
latches in.
Swing the saw blade cover up.
Loosen the screw with the wrench.
Take out the flanges.
upkeep,
checks
or
Take out the saw blade and remove the
valve spacer.
Remove the inner flanges, clean all
parts with a rag and anoint it easily.
Mount the new saw blade (backwards
like you removed the old one). Take
care that the teeth point into the run-
ning direction of the engine!
For precision mitre cuts we recommend
a saw blade with 60 teeth.
5.2
Changing the carbon
brush
What is the carbon brush? – It is a part of
the electrical engine. It provides the wind-
ings of the engine with electricity. The
carbon brush is a wearing part because it
slides on the collector. That's why there
are carbon brushes included in the deliv-
ery. As a result complaints of the carbon
brushes on guarantee are out of the ques-
tion. When your ZI-KGS 305UG doesn't
start anymore a battered carbon brush
might be the reason.
Control that by removing the cover cap
(K) (Fig. L). Take out the carbon brush.
Take care of the alignment of the brush so
that you are able to mount it correctly.
When the carbon brush is not longer than
4mm the spring is not able to push the
brush against the collector and the engine
does not run anymore (Fig. M).
In that case you have to change the car-
bon brush. Ensure that you mount it cor-
rectly.
