adhesive surfaces of the abutment / core buildup depen
dent on the material, as described under "Pretreatment of
the restoration" in the Visalys
use, unless prescribed otherwise in the relevant material
manufacturer's instructions for use.
The emergence profiles and screw channels, as applicable,
must be protected by suitable measures (e.g. wax, silicone
covers).
Application of the cementation composite
1.
Apply Visalys
CemCore on the inside surfaces of the
®
restorations and on the core or cavity surfaces, as
applicable. In the case of application in the mouth, the
processing time is reduced and the restorations must be
placed within 2 min.
2.
Place the restoration on the core or in the cavity.
3.
Removing excess
3.1. Remove after initial curing through brief exposure to light
or selfcuring until the "gel phase"
The excess is either polymerized with a commercial
ly available polymerization lamp (1,200 mW / cm
2 – 3 sec. oral and vestibular as well as mesial and distal
– i.e. at four points – or wait for the gel phase in selfcur
ing. The excess, which is still softelastic, can be easily

removed with a scaler. After removal of the excess, the
cement joint should be lightcured again for 20 sec.
3.2. Removing without initial curing
Remove the excess directly, e.g. with a cotton pellet,
brush or foam pellet.
While removing the excess, the restoration has to be held in
its final position. All excess, especially in difficulttoreach
approximal areas, has to be removed prior to final curing.
4.
Final curing
After removal of excess, the cement joint can be cov
ered with a glycerin gel or polyethylene glycol paste, e.g.
Visalys
CemCore Try In Paste, to avoid the formation of
®
an inhibition layer. This can then be removed with water.
Wait for final curing, also under the restoration (see T ech
nical Data table).
Translucent restorations can also be cured in several lay
ers according to the specified polymerization times de
pendent on the size of the light aperture.
5.
Finishing
Rough cement joints can be finished and polished with
the appropriate instruments.
