• Never use the cable for any purpose other than its
intended purpose.
Do not carry the appliance by its cable and never pull
on the cable to remove the plug from the socket-
GB
outlet. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp
edges.
• Examine your appliance for signs of damage. Have
defective or damaged parts repaired or replaced
by a customer service workshop unless otherwise
stated in these operating instructions.
• Observe the mains voltage (230V - 50Hz).
• Keep the terminals clean and protect them from cor-
rosion.
• This charger is not suitable for maintenance-free
batteries.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the power
supply before carrying out any cleaning or mainte-
nance work.
• Wear acid-proof safety gloves and goggles
whenever you connect up and charge the bat-
tery and whenever you fi ll in acid or top up with
distilled water.
• Have repairs carried out only by a qualifi ed electri-
cian.
Disposal
• Batteries: Dispose of unwanted batteries only via
automotive workshops, special battery collection
stations or special waste collection centres. Ask
your local authorities for details.

3. CHARGING THE BATTERY

Motor vehicle manufacturers recommend discon-
necting the battery from the vehicle's electric sys-
tem prior to charging.
We wish to point out that even standard vehicle
models are equipped with numerous electric mod-
ules (e.g. ABS, ASC, fuel injection pump, on-board
computer and car phone). Voltage peaks may
cause damage to electronic components. It is ad-
visable therefore to disconnect the battery from the
vehicle's electric system during charging.
Please note the instructions in the manuals sup-
plied with your car, radio, car phone, etc.
To charge the battery, proceed as follows:
- Connecting the battery charger to the mains power
(230Vac):
• Connecting 230VAC power supply, the LCD will dis-
play 00.0V.If the output is in a short-circuit situation,
the LCD will display E01, please solve the problem.
- Connecting the battery charger to your Battery
- Connect the red clamp from the charger to the posi-
tive (+) battery terminal. The Black clamp from the
charger to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Start the charging
6
- After the correct connection, charger automatically
check the battery type in advance, this process
needs several seconds. LCD displays "---V" means
now going to perform a routine check. When the
test result is not 6V or 12V battery,or the battery has
been damaged, the LCD will display E03, and the
charger will stop working. After routine check, char-
ger will begin to work with the current selected or
use tacitly approved current 2A.Use current selec-
tion button to select the charge current size accord-
ing to the capacity of the battery, LCD will display the
current size you have chosen.
Charging Stages
A. Constant Current Stage:
Charger will begin to charging with the current selected
or use tacitly approved current 2A, until the charging
voltage is raised up to 7.3V for 6V battery or up to
14.5V for 12V battery, then it will turn to the next charg-
ing stage under constant voltage.
B. Constant Voltage Stage:
The battery charger outputs a constant charging volt-
age of 7.3V for 6V battery or 14.5V for a 12V battery,
the charging current gradually decreases until ≤ 1A will
and turns to the next fl oating charging stage.
C. Float Stage:
Ba
ttery is fully charged and is ready for use. The
LCD displays full grid. Chargers will output a constant
safe voltage, to put both ends of the battery voltages
remained between 6.5V for 6V battery or 13.2V for 12V
battery.
5. SERVICING AND CLEANING
THE BATTERY AND CHARGER
• Make sure that your battery is always fi tted securely
in.
• Check that the battery is properly connected to the
vehicle's electric system.
• Keep the battery clean and dry. Apply a little acid-
free and acid-resistant grease (Vaseline) to the ter-
minals.
• The level of acid in non-maintenance-free batteries
should be checked about every 4 weeks. Top up
with distilled water as necessary.
• Keep the charger in a dry room. Remove any signs
of corrosion from the charging terminals.
