2.0 InTROdUCIOn
This microscope is a scientific precision instrument designed to last for many years with a minimum of main-
tenance. It is built to high optical and mechanical standards and to withstand daily laboratory use.
Optika reminds you that this manual contains important information on safety and maintenance, and that it
must therefore be made accessible to the instrument users.
Optika declines any responsibility deriving from instrument uses that do not comply with this manual.

3.0 UnPACKInG And ASSEMBLY

Before installing, be sure every component is clean. Take care not to scratch parts or surfaces. Sto-
re the supplied hexagon wrench in a safe place: when changing the components, you will need it
again.
- Place the microscope on a sturdy and plane surface.
Installing the lamp housing
- Open the lamp housing and insert the halogen lamp (specifications: 1V / 0W). Hold the bulb by
wrapping it with a cloth or using gloves. Please insert the lamp gently. The lamp may be damaged by
excessive pressure.
Do not touch the halogen bulb with bare hands.
